Hello; This set uses just a standard 3 pin power cord used on PC's an a lot of other things No AC adapter is used on this model. If your set doesn't work, there is a very common failure. This is from my other post

Hello; I am John at J D Electronics in Poland, Maine. I have now repaired 81 of this same model in my shop or PCB mail in's. The set may be dead always or work intermittently. There are 2 versions of this piece of junk, but I have only seen this one. They all have 2 to 7 capacitors that fail on the power supply board that are just above that red chopper transformer. The are labeled C233 and C234 and others. These first 2 are 3300 ufd at 10 volts and 105 C temp rating. You can buy these for about $1 each from Digi-Key Electronics plus $12 shipping. There are some cautions worth mentioning. Make sure the set has been unplugged for a day or more before starting the disassembling. It is VERY important to keep the set face down on a soft surface when doing ANY work on the set. This crappy designed set has a glass faceplate that will fall down if you don't have it face down when all the back screws are removed and it is very hard to put it back into position if it falls. The bottom plastic speaker strip has a million screws to remove both from the bottom edge. Then take out all the screws for the metal back and unplug the speakers. The connector wires to the speakers will not just pull off without you pressing on a side release pin for each of the 4 wire- Stupid design again!. If you are not able to solder or test these caps , you can send the board to me with $44.00 to replace and/or test up to 7 caps this includes USPS Parcel Post return shipping. I accept only cash or USA postal MO. There is NO Warranty on this repair. It is a better than 80% chance this will fix your set. You must call me first at 207 998 5687 EST 9-5 only. Good Luck! John

The sound on my vizio model no is vp322 hdtv10a comes on for a short time and then it goes off and the only time it will come back on is when I cut hte TV off and after a while and the cut it back on.

You may have a bad power supply, or the voltage regulators on the main board are flaky. It may be a bad capacitor, generally a visible difference from the other capacitors will indicate the candidate.

Vizio has a recurring problem with \'adjusable\' voltage regulators on their mainboards that produce the sub-5 volts components desire.

So, it is a component that is heat sensitive, has a bad / cold solder joint, or possibly the power supply capacitor that drives the sound ICs and amplifier.

Vp322 hdtv10a have picture but no sound, what board is it?

If the problem is same with different input devices and you have ensured the are no loose contacts in power outlet, RC jack, cable and sockets, the TV needs servicing.

I have the Vizio vp322 hdtv10a that doesn't turn on,I opened the back panel and found that the capacitors aren't bulging.

Hello, might need a Main Unit or Power Supply by the sounds of it. Try out a company named ShopJimmy.com for parts. I have used them with great success in the past. I included a link to their site from your model page. Hope that helps!

My vizio vp322 hdtv10a was on then just turned off all of a sudden. When i tryd to turn it on the vizio light comes on but the screen is still black.

Hi,

You need to check the output voltages of the power supply to see which one goes off. It may be due to short circuits some where. If otherwise,
Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I hope this will help to rectify the problem, and do take care in handling the TV, because it contains high voltages...

I think I need a new power module for my Vizio vp322 hdtv10a tv. How do I open the TV to expose this module? There are about 10 million screws on the back of the set.

Remove the 4 screws holding the stand. Remove all the perimeter screws. Remove all the screws from the bottom speaker panel and the rest of the perimeter screws and the ground wire screws at each speaker. remove the screws on the surface of the back panel and you are in. The power supply is the large board in the middle. The bad capacitors are in the secondary and were C233, C234, and C236. I replaced these 3 capacitors and fixed this problem. They were 1-10v 1000uF and 2- 10v 3300uF electrolitic board mount capacitors. Easy to spot on the power board, the tops were bulged up. $5.54 later it works perfectly now.

No power

Most likely the power supply board. Have a repair shop check it out.
