Question about Dishwashers

2 Answers

Dishwasher confused Dishwasher was switched off just after cycle commenced (tablet had been released). On restarting dishwasher, it wouldn't take in water and has just been going through the motions of the cycle without anything happening. Even when the power button on the machine is switched off or the door is opened, the motor continues to run but without water. Water is definitely switched on under sink. I think the computer is confused - can you please help?

Thanks for the suggestion. We tipped the dishwasher and a little water ran out. The machine then switched on and appeared to be running ok until it was time to drain and now it won't drain at all. Have located the float. What do I do with it?

I suspect this is nothing to do with switching off during the cycle.
take the bottom plate off and check if there is water leaked into the bottom pan. alternatively, if you can, tilt the machine back to 45deg and see if water runs out.
most machines have a float switch in the base so that if water leaks, all that will happen is that the drain pump runs and i think this is what you are hearing

Forget the float - as long as its not raised then its ok
can you hear the drain pump running or can you hear a low hum when supposed to be draining?

reset it, switch off the mains & back on again, or you could have a problem with the tablet release. so it thinks its finished washing.

Dishwasher wont start

Most likley problem is the door is not closing properly or the door latch switch is faulty. This means the dishwasher controller is not getting the right signal before commencing the wash cycle.
Need to check the closure of the latch. If this is ok then replace the door switch.

Reset button maytag dishwasher

  • 1 Open and close the dooricon1.png of your Maytag dishwasher.
  • 2 Locate the "Rinse" button on the dishwasher control panel. Press and release the button five times in quickicon1.png succession.
  • 3 Press and release the adjacent "Drain/Off" button on the control panel two times; this will deactivate the dishwasher's demo mode and reset your dishwasher.
  • If you need to restart your dishwasher or forgot some dishes and want to open it during a cycle and restart it

  • 1 Press the "Cancel Drain" button on the display. Allow about 2 minutes for the dishwasher to completely drain.
  • 2 Choose a cycle under "Cycles" on the panel.
  • 3 Select an option or options under "Options" on the panel.

Asko D3230 dishwasher pump will not turn off, with main switch on

This is a anti flood activation. It is a safety device (polystireen float and micro switch at the base of the washer) that keeps the drain motor running due to water leak / spill detection. Dry the water and rectify the leak (normaly pipe or clamp leak) and this should solve the problem.

Tablet falls out & doesn't dissolve especially on fast cycle

    Hi and wlecome...
You should not use anything other than powered dishwasher detergent in these products. They are not designed for tablet-style detergents. The reason is because the dispenser does not "open" during the wash cycle like you would see on a conventional dishwaser. The incoming water pours over the detergent and releases the mixture out the bottom of the dispenser. Hi, I don't usually put the tablet in the door holder. I just place it in the bottom of the washer . I aways am concerned that there will be soap residue. So this way utensils are getting washed as soon a the washer commences .I usually scrape debris off plates and utensils before I put them in the dishwasher. This works well. Hope this works well for you. Teresa
