Question about Epson Office Equipment & Supplies

I have an Epson Stylus CX 6400 Printer, Model:C161A,Serial Number FHUE148594.Seems that the new Ink cartridge dispensed too much black ink and now is unable to print at all.I have cleaned several times the Print Head and running a Nozzle Check after each cleaning time.Once is finish I turn it off and let rest overnight and check in the morning with not result. I do not know what else to do. I followed the Quick Reference Book Instructions.It may need a professional cleaning ? I don't know. I really need help to solve the problem. Please guide me what else to do. Thanks....

    My Printer is about 6 years old with not too much use. I clean it frequently now that initially, because had not much use by then.

    ooh.. bit old.. it seems that the waste foam was full.. you can see this part under the ink cartridge on the offline status on the right.. this part is were all the waste ink was dump, while your printing & do head cleaning.. it is better to check that part.

My epson stylus cx6000 printer keeps showing -(install the ink cartridges) and I have already put in new ones. The code is E-02.


f you have just installed a new cartridge and you still see an ink related error message, the cartridge may be incorrectly installed. Follow these steps to make sure the cartridges are correctly installed:

  1. Make sure the Stylus CX is turned on.


  2. Check the photo viewer screen to determine which cartridge is incorrectly installed. Then do one of the following:


    • If printer shows the ink cartridge is expended, press the cp_button_6.gif Start button.


    • If the printer shows the cartridge is low on ink, press the Setup/Utilities button. Press the cp_button_41_er.gif or cp_button_42_er.gif button to select Press Start to change cartridges. Then press the cp_button_6.gif Start button.


  3. Press the cp_button_6.gif Start button again.


  4. Lift up the scanner, then open the cartridge cover.


alert_caution.gif Caution:
Never attempt to open the cartridge cover when the print head is moving. Wait until the cartridges have moved to the replacement position.

  • Press down all the ink cartridges until they click into place to make sure they are properly seated.


  • alert_note.gif Note:
    If a cartridge is properly seated already, you may not hear a click.

  • Close the ink cartridge cover and press it until it clicks into place.


  • Close the scanner.

  • Press the cp_button_6.gif Start button. The Stylus CX charges ink for about one minute and displays Charging Ink on the photo viewer screen until charging is finished.

    Never turn off the Stylus CX while the Charging Ink message is displayed or you'll waste ink.

  • Press the Setup/Utilities button to return to the previous mode, if necessary.

    E-90 error message on Epson CX6000


    If the error code E-90 appears on your Stylus CX control panel display, the print head may not be able to move back and forth freely.

    If the ink cartridge cover is not completely closed, the print head may have trouble moving back and forth. Follow these steps to close the ink cartridge cover:

    1. Turn off the Stylus CX.


    2. Lift up the scanner.


    3. Press down on the ink cartridge cover to make sure it is completely closed.


    4. Close the scanner and turn the Stylus CX back on.

    If the packing materials are not removed, the print head will be unable to move and the error code E-90 may appear on the control panel display. Follow these steps to remove the packing materials:

    1. Turn off the Stylus CX.


    2. Lift up the scanner to access the printer area.


    3. Remove the tape from the ink cartridge holder.

    Epson cx8400 Black Ink Cartridge doesn't work on Printing


    I put alcohol in inside the printer, where you insert the ink cartruges then cleaned with paper towl and it works for me.....

    Epson stylus cx 7400


    Epson includes step-by-step instructions on changing the ink cartridges in the Printing Preferences menu:

    Click the start button and open the Control Panel.
    Right click Printers and select Printing Preferences.
    Click the Maintenance tab.
    You should see a button that says Ink Cartridge Replacement.

    Just follow the instructions and it walks you through it.

    Changing Ink Cartridges


    I'm assuming you are using originals. I would suggest you taking the cartridges out and re-inserting them. If you are using refilled cartridges and you used the cartridges to almost empty then probably the chip may have short circuited rendering the chip useless. If you bought remanufctured cartridges I suggest you ask them for replacements. This isn't really that high tech but I hope this helps.

    If you already have tried reseating all of the inks and and inks are still not recognized, Please contact Epson tech support for a replacement ink or if they find out after some diagnostics that it is the printer that is having an issue they would be replacing your printer.

    Epson cx 6400 not printing colors


    Chances are you are running out of ink or need to do more cleaning cycles.

    Its also possible that your ink is "Very Old" and may be slowly becoming clogged in the cartridges.
