Audio Connections I have a JVC RX-D301s receiover. How can I connect the audio outputs from my cable box and my computer to this receiver in order to play through the speaker system?

I have not yet looked at the manual you referred me to, but the documentation that came with the receiver does not mention an audio connection to a cable box nor does it indicate how to set up any other "auxiliary" audio input.

For the time being I am using this receiver in the simplest possible way. I have left and right speakers attached - no surround at this point. In addition I have a simple Sony DVP-NS57P DVD player attached. Both FM reception DVD (or CD) audio work fine.

your cable box has a audio out plug.. this way you can connect it directly to the reciever, while the video was still connected directly on your TV.

You can use the sound from your pc with either:

    1. by connecting the supplied wireless antenna into the back of the receaver and the usb wireless transmitter also supplied into your pc

    2. by connection your pc to the usb termina with a usb cable

I have a JVC RX-7010V AUDIO/VIDEO CONTROL RECEIVER. And I can not get it to hook up to my TV for surround sound I have to hook it up through my headphone jack on my TV.

On the back of the JVC receiver, there should be a TV input, Coax IN and OUT or AUX input (I don't remember if this model had HDMI). On the back of your TV, there should be an AUDIO OUT, connect this to either the TV or AUX inputs and make sure on your TV, to set the Audio Out is On in the TV menu. Turn on JVC and set input to TV and adjust volume. Another way is using the COAX input and outputs. Connect Output of cable box to Input of JVC, then connect Output of TV to Input on TV.

WHERE IS THE AUDIO OUTPUT WHEN USING COMPONENT CABLES ON A YAMAHA RX-V571 RECEIVER

How are you hooking up the receiver to the dvd recorder? Component connections are only going to carry video. For audio, you would have to connect the cd-r output rca jacks to the recorder audio inputs.

I have my cable box hooked up with HDMI and it works great. I have my blu ray player hooked up with components (R,G,B). Im not getting audio or video this way. Can anyone help?

Keep in mind that while HDMI will pass audio with video over one single cable, the Component connectors (RGB) although being 3 cables only passes the video signal, you will also need to connect up a separate connection from your DVD player to you receiver for audio, be it analog (red/white RCA connectors) or optical
Be sure to specify in the DVD's on screen menu which audio output you choose as audio may not pass out all available connections unless enabled. You may also need to select which video output you are using.
As far as not getting video, just be sure you connections are correct (red to red) etc as this would explain the no video...
I hope this helps,
Magoo

Left front and left rear speakers do not work, they produce some sound but mostly static. The "phono" rca jacks also do not work.

Hello,
First off make sure that the cables you are using are functional. Also, check and verify the locations of the connections. You need an audio output from your source to an audio input at your receiver. If you run a video output from your source to an auido input on your receiver that will create strange sounds

Connecting cable to receiver

Do you mean 5 RCA audio outputs marked as FrontLeft, FrontRight, RearLeft, RearRight, Center? Unfortunately this receiver doesn't have discrete 5ch inputs (as yamaha calls it on its webpage).
But the cable box should have also digital audio SPDIF output - that is either optical (square connector) or coax (RCA usually orange). You can use this for connecting to receiver.

No audio after hooking up RX-V363 to TV monitor (from cable box )

The HDMI on the RX-v363 does not pass the audio.  You need to either connect an optical or digital cable from your audio source.  If it is a cable box or DVD player there should be audio outputs in addition to HDMI
