Did you get a replacement unit from the manufacturer

Did you ever receive your replacement unit from RCA and did you have to provide a receipt from when you purchased the unit? I cannot find any repair shops to fix it and have owned if for only 6 months. A tape got stuck in the machine which I had to remove and now it will not accept tapes either. I am debating on what I should do.

I did send in our unit. I asked for a different model since others posted that they got replacements only to end up with the same problem again and sometimes again. We got the replacement yesterday and of course it is the very same model. It took two months and two days from the time they received our unit back. You might ask about getting a prepaid shipping label from RCA. I noticed after paying to send ours in that others were send the prepaid label. I requested to be reimbursed for the $26.00 in shipping but didn't get that either. I guess it is up to you about what to do, but I do feel you are due a replacement. They didn't ask for our receipt when I called...... Hope that helps.

They are fobbing you off if they told you to come to Fixya. We are a community of people who just like helping people. We are not Walmart or RCA.

To be fair, you should be able to prove your purchase with them. Who provided the replacement plan? If it was Walmart, then it is their duty to replace or fix your unit. There may be small print that says something to the effect that they will cover replacement up to 12 months and after that, it is down to the manufacturer. Go back and ask to speak to the manager. Tell them you went to Fixya and this was the information you got :>)

I bought a 46 inch tv from best buy, three months later it has huge vertical lines up and down on it. Frustrated. I cannot find the receipt, what should i do?


Try talking to Best Buy if you have not already done that. Also if you paid with a credit card they can provide you with a receipt or at least a payment record.

You may find a authorized repair shop is willing to work with you on this--in our shop since we get paid to just look at a set in warranty we "create" an invoice that indicates the customer has proof of purchase--the MFR will accept the word of the repair shop.

contact kenwood , provide copy of receipt....or credit card billing or get a dplicate receipt from store somehow as proof of purchase, along with serial number off the unit, and they should be able to help you out. please post back results

My craig mp4 touchscreen wont work and i cant go to touch calibration.


This is the "Answer" Craig Electronics gave us when we submitted the same problem. Obviously, the guy didn't read that we TRIED to reset the damned thing already. It's a piece of junk and so is their tech support:
"Insert a small pin into the reset hole, wait a few seconds and turn the unit on. This action will reboot the system all should return back to normal working mode. If not then your unit is defective in which you will need to replace the unit. To do so you will need the copy of the original receipt or see if you can get some kind of store receipt where you recently purchased the unit. Why? Is this so important because without the receipt your unit is consider to be out of warranty. The cost to replace the unit will be $25.00 Dollars. You will need to send us a Money order payable to Craig Electronics. With the money order please do provide us with your full name, full address, and contact number. Also include the model number to the unit that you are replacing. Upon receiving all of the stated information we will begin to process your order."

I have a craig mp4 player model cmp621f. the touch screen is not responsive. how can i get into the settings so that i can recalibrate the screen?

They obviously did not pay any attention to the list of things we've already tried which included trying many times to reset the stupid thing. It's junk. Get your money back if you can. if not, chalk it up to a lesson learned. We get what we pay for when it comes to electronics.

RCA RS2046 CD won't play


This is what I found: It worked for me.
You can try to reset the unit using the procedure below: Let the unit sit with the AC power cord out of the wall for a couple of hours. Then hit the power button 10-15 times (with the AC power cord still out of the wall socket!) and then try again. If you continue to have problems unfortunately it sounds as though it is within the electrical assembly. It is hard to say exactly what caused it or exactly what the problem with the circuits are without having a technician look at it. the warranty period, the purchaser will be required to furnish a sales receipt/proof of purchase indicating the date of purchase, amount paid, and place of purchase.

Customers who fail to provide such proof of purchase,or I assume when the product is out of the warranty period, will be charged for the repair/replacement of any Product.

Radios and flashlight from innovage wont work


I would return them to the place of purchase and tell them they don't work. Most stores have a defective product replacement policy where they'll either replace your units or refund your money. Be sure to bring your receipts.

My blue tooth will not turn on or even light up


Plantronics  Support Phone Number: 1-800-544-4660  I called in with a "noise" issue. Tech support stated if I have purchase date evidence the one year warranty is valid.  Send copy of receipt with the unit and a replacement will be provided free.  I sent it in with copy of my original receipt.  Turn around is 3-5 days after receiving.

Year old explorist 100 doesn't work anymore


Even though your sister has lost the receipt, many stores have the ability to look up purchases at the store provided she used a credit card. You can not do this over the phone. You will need to have your sister go to the store and ask them to look up her purchase with her credit card. If it is a recent purchase and still within the product warranty you may be able to get a replacement. Good luck.
