Vivicam help!!! my daughter bought a vivitar vivicam and it keeps telling me to format the card, it says card full (it's a brand new card) and then when we try to take pics it says format card, we go thru the format but not working .....HELP

Format the new sd card in the camera.

Having gone over five months without a reply to my query, I assume formatting the card solved the problem.

Two possible reasons: 1. The card needs to be formatted in the camera to work. 2. The card may be to large a capacity for this model camera. For example, if the camera can use up to a 2GB card and you try to use an SDHC 8GB card, you will get "card error" so check your manual.

if it keeps saying that, your only bet is to try formatting it with a pc as far as the camera detects it, you can connect it via usb and then format it to see if it would work.

The new card needs to be formatted in the camera.

Check and make sure the SD card is in all the way, it should make a clicking sound when it's in all the way. I had this same problem with my Vivicam 8025. Hope this helps!

change the storage location to mem card on the settings...!

per manual... camera supports UP TO 256MB... your camera can't recognize a 2gb card.
