Error 0xc18a0101 persists. Have tried solution given earlier for 0xc18a0001 without success. Ink system failure not resetting; all cartridges are full.

Its tricky mechanism, once printer detects ink system failed it cannot be resetted. Do this take out cartridges from printer., open right cover., find out logic card., remove cmos battery., wait for 5 minutes., refix batyery., power on the printer., follow the screen messges ... I hope it will solve the issue..

"Ink system has failed. Unable to print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: 0xc18a0101 Turn power off, then on again."

The first problem is you have an ink jet consumer printer. Go to their support site and search that error code. That may help, but don't count on it. HP is notorious for selling defective products and have lost more than one class action suites. you can try these steps http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00489814&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3204785&tmp_track_link=ot_search
But it could also be the error for when the ink resovors are full in the bottom of the machine. It will stop working by design then. If it were to over flow you would see where all that ink went you been buying, so they stop the machine before that happens. Best advice is take it to the nearest dumpster and deposit it inside it, and buy a laser printer. It was the best thing I ever did.

I have an HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One, The message on it reads Error 0xc18a0101. It will not allow me to print. It says that there is some ink problem. What do I do to fix it?

An ink system error started occurring on my printer and eventually it would constantly power on and off. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board (see photo). On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). I purchased 3x 330uF 16V and 1x 680uF 10v rated to 105 degrees Celsius (total about 60cents). On the logic board, the capacitors I replaced are labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662. If you are not comfortable replacing the parts yourself (or don't have a soldering tool), you will have to find someone who will. The time to repair should be less than 30 min - I did it in 25 min with only a solder pen. This also fixed the ink system failures the printer was having. A similar fix may apply to other printers.
