Some Transcend flash drives have a switch on the side that turns on and off the write protect feature. If yours has one make sure it is in the off position. Otherwise click here and enter your part number or model number of the drive to get to the corresponding drive's download page. Download the "recovery Tool" software and install and then run to restore your drive. Please, note that if there is any data on the drive it will be erased.

USB 16 GB transcend says disc is write protected!!

You should try to delete the partition in the Transcend memory stick and creat a new partition. You should copy any files that you need off this memory device before you re-partition it because you will lose all the data that is stored on the device.

Go to the Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Magament.
Scroll down until you see your removeable device the 16Gb memory device, click once on this, It may not show it as Healthy.
Right click in this disk (make sure you do not select the C drive) and click on Delete Partition to remove the partition.
Right click on this unpartition drive and Create a partition.
You may not have to format this partition, it should now show this as a healthy drive.
Exit out of Disk/computer Management and Control Panel.

The USB drive should now function normally.

Transcend jet flash showing write protected message

hey, i was having the same problem with the same flash drive... there are two ways how you can fix it..
1. try formatting using cmd
Go to start-->run and then type cmd and press enter
now the command window will open
in that type format X: (x being your drive)
This should work fine if not try the second method
2. Go to this website and download the recovery tool software which is exclusively for transcend flash drives.. click the link below to so to that site..
http://www.transcendusa.com/Support/DLCenter/index.asp?axn=SRH2&ModNo=107&ItemID=TS16GJFV30&Controller=#5
Download the recovery tool software under the topic software and install it in your system.
Now connect the flash drive in your pc and run the recovery tool application.. This will format your flash drive
