Replaced the toner cartridge with a factory replacement we have also tried 2 additional cartridge all with the same results. The printer will not print a full page in either the pc print mode or copying mode. it only prints about 1" on right side. The rest of the sheet is blank. We have replaced the cartridge before and had no problem.

Try cleaning the corona wire on each toner cartridge. This may help solve your solution. If this does not help try another thing. Try and replace the toner cartridge. Maybe your toner cartridge needs to be replaced. Usualy when printed images are light or pale a toner cartridge replacement is recommended. To see how to replace your toner cartridges check here
1.Log on to your computer and print a test page to the printer. Click on the "Start" button, choose "Control Panel" and then "Printers and Faxes." Right-click on the laser printer, choose "Properties" from the drop-down menu and click the "Print test page" box.
2.Look at the quality of the print on the finished page. If the print is light or faded, the ink cartridge is probably empty or at least empty enough that it should be replaced. You can try to get some extra life out of your toner cartridge by taking it out of the printer, shaking it vigorously and putting it back in. Under normal printing loads, this can give you one to three days of additional printing capacity.
3.Open the printer cover and carefully pull out the toner cartridge. Set the cartridge aside while you open the box containing the new toner. Pull the new toner out but do not yet remove any of the packaging materials. Compare the weight of the new toner with the old one. If the old toner is very light, it is nearly empty and should be replaced.
You do not necessarily need to replace the toner right away. The toner has 2 visible clear tabs when you are looking at either side of the toner cartridge. This is for a reader built into the unit to recognize that the toner is low. However, if you cover those clear plastic pieces with black electrical tape, you will be able to achieve an additional couple hundred prints and when the toner no longer prints on the page, you are definitely out of toner.
Did you replace the waste (used) toner cartridge or the empty toner cartridge? These copiers have 2 "cartridges" .... one is waste (used) toner, the other is "new" toner for copying / printing etc. Some newer copiers have All in One units....Drum, New Toner, Waste (used) Toner. If you replaced the Waste Toner container (or dumped it) that should reset the code or error message.
Yields for cartridges are based on a page being only 6% covered. Most letters are about 10% coverage. If you print anything with lots of print (especially bold) your yield will reduce drastically. The same thing goes for pictures.
I had the same problem and found that one of the toner cartridges must have not been seated properly. I removed the black toner cartridge and re-fitted it. The printer now works fine again with no errors. 17H is a code relating to a fault in the rotation ......... possibly one or more toner cartridges need checking. Use the menu on the printer to turn it to the appropriate position (i.e. engine menu then select replacement of whichever toner you are checking).
Hope this fixes your as well.
