Question about Sky Hawk Computers (PSR5601W-SL) ATX Mid-Tower Case

1 Answer

Front headphone and microphone jack don't work.

I attached headphones to the jack in the front/bottom of the Sky Hawk Computers ATX Mid-Tower Case and nothing comes out. Is there a setting in the BIOS, jumper to set, or software I can use to enable this feature.

Based on what you've submitted, I'm listing a number of solutions which may or may not help. Try the following:

1.) Double-check the color coding on the jack to the port and ensure they match.

2.) Go to Start Menu>>Control Panel>>Sounds and Audio Devices. If it says you have "No Audio Device", then we have a problem.

If it says you have an audio device, tinker with the tabs and settings until your sound output is good.

Please let me know if this helps. If you need further troubleshooting, feel free to ask me directly! Take care.

Go to control panel, click on sound and check if the head phone jack is enabled and also if the drop down list under head phone jack properties states 'use this device'
I had a similar problem with my build in speakers on my laptop also in Vista and the problem was simply that the speakers were not enabled.
Hope that solves the problem for you.

Welcome to the computer age. I looked up your HP W1907 monitor. It comes with a built in microphone and speakers but no audio jack for plugging in headphones. You will need to find an audio jack on your computer tower. Most new computers have audio and microphone jacks on their front face. In most cases there will be a picture of a microphone or headphones next to the jack to tell you what it is. If you can't find one on the front, look in the back. The audio jack is usually color coded green. I hope this helps you out.

The front audio in this case does not support HD sound. To get it to work you must instal the "HD Sound Application" that came with your hardware and disable the "Detect Front Panel Jack Detection" option. You'll have to manually switch between the two inputs.

Don't want to use my headphone, is there a way that i can just use my integrated computer's microphone

Hey,

Yes, sure, in the program you use the mic, you need to change the input or mic setting to the proper input, it debends. But try other inputs untill you find the right one.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

My headphones won't work!

look at the headphone jack, if it has 3 band, it is a stereo jack. the computer is mono.
you need a 2 band jack.
if you look at the jack on the computer, you will see blue(left) and green (right). you canna try to use the green jack.
go to any electroic shop and get a stereo to mono converter.

Your headphone jack is probably damaged and needs replacement. Here is one I found on the net: Repair your broken "Hands Free" socket, soldering required. This item is also available pre-mounted to the board, ready to plug in. Free shipping.

Headphone jack not working.

If you have a headphone jack at the front and the back, it may be a wire to the front panel is not connected properly on the Motherboard.
