More over have you tried installing a Anti-virus.Cause sometimes Virus make the computer slow.
, as a tip De-fragment your hard drives time to time.if virus has hit your computer try installing a fresh copy of windows and then installing Anti-virus .let me remind you when you install a copy of windows do not attempt to open any drive cause there are auto-run viruses. so you first clean your computer then go to other drives clean and safe.

Do comment if it helped you in ANY MANNER !

A slow computer could becaused by a number of things - 1. InsufficientRAM memory - if your computer has less than 512Mb of RAM then increase it to atleast 1Gb of RAM. 2. Registryproblems - clean and repair the registry, it will contain unused registry keys.Use programs such as Registry Mechanic, Microsoft RegClean etc. 3. Uninstall/removeunused programs, this will also free up hard disk space. 4. Notenough hard disk space - swap file space may need to be increased if Windowshasn't been configured to manage it. 5. Installlatest Windows updates. 6. Updatevirus definition files and scan computer for viruses, Trojans, malware etc. 7. Clearthe Internet cache for faster browsing. 8. Harddisk maintenance is required at least once a month to keep it functioningefficiently. Runthe following programs - Disk Cleanup -removes temporary files that are no longer used and to recovers hard diskspace. DiskDefragmenter to make fragmented files into contiguous files and thereforethe hard disk access is faster.

Open tne Device manager trough the Control Panel and select the " sound , video and game controllers " to identify the sound card .
Go for an update of the driver .
If this doesn' t work , go to the manufacturer's site and download the driver . Select the correct OS before proceeding .

Need help with toshiba dynabook satellite 1801

Toshiba bios password removal process is meant for use on Toshiba laptops that you own or have had permission from the rightful owner to remove the password. If any of these processes are done incorrectly it may result in complete system failure or permanent system damage (you've been warned!).

Some Toshiba bios passwords can be reset using the Key Disk.exe utility, to do this you need a 1.44Mb floppy disk. Format the disk using Windows and then with a hex editor, change the first five bytes of the second sector to 4B 45 59 00 00.

Then put the floppy into your machine and boot it up, you'll be asked for a password, just press Enter. Then when you're asked to set the password, type Y then Enter, this will get you into the bios configuration where you can then type in a new password.

Aside from the KeyDisk, you can build a parallel Loopback plug, this is a simple device that plugs into the parallel port of the machine and removes the password when you boot it up.

To make it you will need a 25 pin DB25 plug, take the plug apart and join these pins using some old cable;
Pins: 1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15, and 18-25

adaec67.gif
Plug it into your parallel port and boot up your machine, the password should be removed as soon as it boots.

Note: This will work on majority of older Toshiba's (1995 – 2002) and obviously only ones that have a parallel port.
