I have birthdays listed in my phonebook in the contacts, but when the birthday comes up I do not receive a reminder. please assist.

There have lot of ways to remembers birthday,you can use your phone calender for remind peoples birthday.Now a days peoples feels so easy to use Facebook birthday reminder.You also can use Google calender for remind birthday.

You might have inadvertently turned it off

Facebook gives you options when it comes to displaying your birthday. You can elect to share only the month and day you were born, or also include the year. When your birthday rolls around, it shows up in the top right corner of your friends' homepages. While you cannot disable the alerts of your friends, you can control whether or not your friends are notified of your birthday. Make your birthday only visible to yourself to stop friends from getting an alert.

Click on the "Account" icon in the top right corner of any Facebook screen. Select "Privacy Settings" from the list that appears. Click on the blue "Customize Settings" link at the bottom of the "Sharing on Facebook" section. Scroll down to the "Birthday" line in the "Things I Share" section. Click on the gray icon next to "Birthday" that displays the current privacy setting by default, it is set to "Everyone." Choose "Customize" from the drop-down menu. Click on the downward arrow in the "Make This Visible to These People" line to bring up a menu. Select "Only Me" and then "Save Setting."

Get a copy of your birth certificate. The date of your birth is printed on this certificate.

I have the same problem as you. With 'Birthday Alert' you'll never miss another Birthday! Birthday Alert sends you email alerts for upcoming birthdays. It shows you which friends have birthdays coming soon, and lets you manage email reminders to keep you up to date.

If you add birthdays for the entries in phone book, you get to see those in the nearby in the front screen.
For this, goto an address book entry, edit and then enter the birthday. thats it. When that birthday falls within next one month, it will be displayed as reminder on the front screen.

if you tries to turn it off and it turns back on after a few seconds.the birthda reminder in a contact record that spans past the new year (jan1)will trigger this.palm is aware of this paricular issue which is peculiar with the devices tungsten T3,T5*,E*,Ttreo 650* etc
for example if you create a contact record for a person which includes his/her name,phone number,adress and email adress.you also include his birthday,jan 2. you then choose the reminder to appear 7days before his birthday since this reminder will be triggered before january 1,the hand held may encounter problem not turning off.
solution

• set the calendar to go off in the same calender year as the birth day(i.e on or after jan1)
• in the example above changing the reminder to 1 day will prevent the issue
• to change birthday reminder:open contact applicatio>open the record with the birhday>select edit>scroll to the birthday field> tap on the birthday>change the reminder.
• like in the example above ,you change the number of days to 1
• alternatively simply uncheck the birthday reminder box in order not to be reminded at all instead of changing the days if you dont want to be reminided at all.

Have you done a master reset too it..if you have and it's still having the same issue....the device is corrupted and you will need to have the device replaced.

you need to copy the phone numbers from your sim to the phone to be able to do this

first delete all other reminder and then do it. if it dont work then do a Master Reset of ur mobile.
