Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have HP Office Jet V40. I changed ink cartridges. When I put the printer on, there was a message in the window, "Clear carriage jam, and then press Enter." I opened the door and had a good look, there was no obvious jam. It makes a little noise but the cartridges cattiage does not move to the right end. How to put it right? Please advise

Open the lid and uplug the power cord, then reach in there and give the whole carriage a little boost one way and the other, my photosmart 8450 does this once in a while and once I move it a little and plug it back in, it goes where it should be.

I don't understand what you mean about your computer, you listed above that your carriage did not got to the right where it belongs, this means that it is stuck, I gave you one possibility to free it up, your computer is just telling you that your ink carriage is in the wrong place, and it will continue to say this till you get your ink carriage in the right place. It is obvious that it is impossible to help some folks.

I just changed the (2) ink cartridges in my HP PCS 1610 All-in-One HP printer and now get an error message "CARRIAGE JAM - OPEN DOOR. CLEAR CARRIAGE JAM, AND THEN PRESS OK." I don't see any jam...

Have you tried moving the carriage to see if it really is jammed? Maybe you haven't put the levers down properly on your new cartridges....remove them, see if the carriage slides, then refit them and check the carriage again. You wont visually 'see' a carriage jam,; you have to try moving it. By the way, if it doesn't move, DONT force it to try and overcome the jam try and reason out why it doesn't move.
Hope this helps!

The Carriage Jam error message displays on the control panel display. The print carriage, which holds the ink cartridges, stalls against the left side of the printer. A paper jam might have occurred previously.

My brand new hp 8500 wireless office ink jet printer say open the carriage access door clear the jam. We took the small 2 ink cartiages out and put them in again and this keeps come up.What do we do now?...

Why are you taking out the ink cartridges??
The message says to open the carriage access door and clear the jam. The printer thinks that paper is stuck in the paper path, see if you can find it. I believe that there is also a rear door on that printer, remove it and look inside.

Clear carriage jam

The carriage assembly is what the ink cartridges moves on. The silver bar that runs through the cartridge holder must be oiled. Put two or three drops of thin oil oun iether sides of the cartridge holder. This should clear the "carriage error"

My HP Officejet J4680 states that there is a cartridge jam. How do I fix this?

this issue is a little tricky as the unit may think there is a paper jam
first make sure the craddle - where the ink cartridge sit - can move freely, if it can then look for any bits of paper that may be stuck around it or in the machine, clean the rollers on the rear access door of the unit as well.
if the error message doesnt clear out then try the next step
If the carriage chute will not move then disconnect the power cord press and hold # 3 at the same time and as holding those 2 buttons re connect the power cord. if the carriage fails to move upon reset then you have a carriage jam and your printer needs servicing

Where is the ink cartridge located on the HP office jet 6110 prin

if you are to lift the top part of your printer you will see the cartridges inside as shown below:
Lifting the scanner bed exposes the entire paper path and gives your hands plenty of space to replace ink or clear paper jams.

Can not get by carriage jam message

I had an old HP printer and it would say the door was open or the cartridge jam. It turned out the cartridge was too far to the end of its belt cycle. It is weird, but I put a finger space width between the cartridge and the wall of the printer and then it read it correctly. Go figure. It would get off cycle whenever I replaced the ink cartridge.
