i found it. thank you :) it was next to the wireless card and modem card panel and it is soldiered to the motherboard. so i replaced it and let it charge for a while, unplugged it and let it sit, and it is still doing the same thing, it is not keeping the date and time and reverts back to the default settings. i even downloaded the latest bios version 1.70 and that didnt fix it either. i dont know whats wrong with it now?

I found where the cmos battery is located. By the Toshiba tech support website , it's next to the PCMCIA Slot, just behind it. To get to it, Take off LCD, keyboard, top palmrest, hard drive, battery, memory, top power cover, switch board, modem, network. and some others. Too many to describe here. Items to remove not in order.
I Have the service manual downloaded already.

Was it working before you had flash the bios?
If it was, you might have made the board now a lemon.

Could be the "resume" battery that has died - its an internal battery shrink wrapped in bright green plastic on tosh's normally - you might be able to get to it by unplugging stuff, battery, cd rom etc etc....unplug it and plug it back in again, if it comes alive again order another. I went on a toshiba laptop maintenance course years ago with a company that i worked for and that error that youre seeing was the fix....see if that works...

Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 Charger problem

Get another laptop.

The A135 is a lemon.

Problem is either with the dc jack on the board or more than likely the motherboard is damaged.

I've repaired a number of A135's and 95% of the time motherboard had to be replaced.

Sorry for the bad news, but I hope this helps.

Hey,

wow at the scars thats bad. I would suggest you use a cooling device under the laptop. And blow the dust out from the fans with canned air.

look around on ebay for one that fits your budged and the size of the laptop
