Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

Blue Screen & inputs dont work.....capacitors?

Hello everyone,

I was watching TV last night via HDMI and the screen started to scramble at 720p, i dropped it down to 480 and it started to work again, but it eventually scrambled too and went to a blue screen. Now none of the inputs seem to be working (Component & Input).

Could this be a capacitor problem? I seem to be reading a lot about it here, if so where can i get instructions on replacement. I do not have a problem taking the TV apart and soldering.

If it is not a capacitor, what could it be?

Thank You for all the help!

Just noticed horizontal lines (Light Blue) & when i change inputs there seems to be a starry sky appearance.

Also, problem seems to be progressing, now even the menus dont show up properly & wiggle vertically.

    Thank You

I had the same problem, I called Mitsubishi and they with trouble shooting help, they told me to get a new lamp. Well I got a new lamp and but nothing happens, the tv screen is black no sound, no picture. I went to this site http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/product_info.php/pName/v26-dlp-fmt-pwb-repair-kit/cName/repair-kits/osCsid/5ac56adb48ff3afdd7ff25c1f1f5cbf2 and with their help, and troubleshooting help, said this kit would work, I just got it today, and I am going to install it now, I will be back to let you know. But I do suggest you go on that site, and try to get some assistance, they sell the service manuals for 16.99$, but if you buy a kit, it includes the manual. Well let us know what happens, and I will be back.

Hdmi inputs are not working on my mitsubishi WD65738 DLP

That TV is suppose to have automatic input detection but if it doesn't work you can press the input button on the remote and then use the arrows and enter to select the input you are trying to use.

Wd65738 blue screen

blue screen means no video signal, if the source is on hdmi ensure the cable is rca or in simple audio video jacks which u will have to connect in the dvi input of the tv reason is hdmi means high definition interface and transmits by hdcp like the data of an internet meaning its digital platform which the tv can only process thru the dvi inputs or component y,p,b

4yr old Mitsubishi DL 52525, HDMI input vide problem

Are you sure its the TV and not the source? Are you sure its only the HDMI port on the TV? The only reason why you must HDMI is to get 1080p and your TV doesn't support 1080p. Its supports up to 1080i. Your TV has a native resolution of 720p which means it can accept a 720p image and not need to scale it, so the picture will look the best at 720p but will support 1080i. I would use component cables to connect your sources and set them to output 720p.

HDTV CABLE NOT HOOKED UP/WORKING

COMP 1 and 2 are for 480i/p sources. Hook it to the 1080i capable on the back. Also make sure the HD DVR is outputting 1080i not 720p. The Mits can not disply 720p and will show a scrambled screen if you try to.

Hi,
Seems convergence out IC is fried in TV so it gives blue shadow.

Check out Convergence Out IC which you need to replace in TV, if you have enough experience of repair of big TV, necessary tools and know basic electronics.

Change the 1000uf @16v capacitors on the FMT board that should solve your problem. You will most likely found that they have swelled. Let me know if you need further info.

HDTV-AT&T UVERSE

First of all, is your blue "HD" light lit up on the front of your Uverse box?

If yes, then you're in HD

If No, you need to check your connections from Box to TV
1.Those Red-Blue-Green cables are for video only, they don't carry sound and shouldn't be connected to audio outs. Audio needs a seperate cable. Make sure your Red isn't on the audio out which is also red. Make sure your blue and green aren't switched with each other either. Check that at both ends.
2. Try an HDMI cable. It will carry audio and video together and it's one cord instead of 5.
3. What brand/model of TV is it? Is it an older projection TV? The HD tuner might be shot. The individual color tubes commonly fail after a few years.
4. Are you selecting 720p or 1080i from your TV's menu or from the Uverse menu? You'll need to set it through the Uverse box, not the TV.
5.Follow -Menu -Settings -Aspect Ratio to change to 720 or 1080. This should start an autotest which will scramble your picture for about 5 seconds, then bring you back to a menu asking you to keep settings or revert back settings. If you never see that question pop up, then your TV isn't supporting the HD, and you settings will be rolled back automatically. If the question does pop up and you can read it, select "keep settings" and press OK. Your blue HD light should come on the front of the box now.
