Need instructions on how to use my walkman

I lost the instructions on how to use my never been used new walkman. It has the weatherband, AM, FM, 40 presets, TV, and cassette player. I can't figure it out. Took it to Best Buy and he didn't know either. Can I get a set of instructions? I'm a 74 year old female and need lots of help with these modern gadgets. I'm not familiar with these new things and the names of the parts. I don't know anyone who can help me. Please HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!! I have a cord to use it with my Bose radio. That only has a CD player and I have so many nice cassettes but nothing to play them on. But when I plug the player into the radio and put the radio on auxilliary nothing happens. I can't figure out any of the switches.

where is your "trouble-shooting forums"? What does "you can find the problem thread in your FixYa profile"mean.

I don't understand any of that. Foam

No, I did not solve my problem. I thought your service was free and I cannot afford to pay you to tell me how to get a set of directions on how to use it. Thank you for answering my letter. Foam

Buying old cassette deck on e bay soon crackling noise when play pressed but goes away ok to buy is circa 1972?

First of all buying any old electronics can be a headache unless you are so lucky. If they are kept away from use for a long time , it become worse because in the older sets the electrolitics used would have lost some value rating and hence perform with lesser quality. What could be done is to put these sets on for a longer time and test out. secondly some of them would have lost the tension of the belts, the rubbers of the rollers would have turned hard. you will need to check out all these factors but if you want a cassette player ,it can only be an old one as the production has been stopped by major companies. So in the bargain we need to take this chance and go on. good luck. Good day

Turn walkman off

If it's a tape player with a stop button it should turn off by just pressing stop. If there is a radio then there then there should be an off position where you select if you want to listen to the radio or listen to the tape.

My Sony Walkman WM -SR10 is not recording and the cassette tape is not working. Only the radio is player. And I cannot get another one to buy even its not the same. Can you help me

Hello aga2958,
I think you need to visit maintenance center to fix that cause its hardware problem.
But you can check somethings before u visit them .. like:
1. If you are using Batteries to power up the Walkman .. be sure the batteries are full charged.
2. Try to power on the Walkman by Adapter 3 Volts.
3. Be sure the tapes you are using are fine into other Cassette.
Thanks for using FixYa.
