ASUS laptop model A6000 Power supply

Hi. My laptop goes on battery mode even when I have the power supply cable plugged in. This problem came a year after I bought the laptop and it´s getting more worse every day. I think the problem is a loose connection, because I can just more the cable a little be back and forth to solve the problem for a while, but as I said: "It´s getting worse and worse" and now it has gone rather difficult to fix it every time. Any solutions ?

It seems to be normal for Asus.Me and my sister got the same problem with our Asus laptops after one year of use one after another in order of time we bought them. Problem doesn't lay on the power cable side. It is definitly problem with connection between power switch and mother board. First solution is to take it to service. Second (my preferred) is to change the brand.

I have a similar problem. The laptop switches into battery mode irregularry, even if no battery is inside. It runs stable with power cord connected for some minutes or hours, but sometimes switches off with no warning.
I have taken a new power cable, but still the same problem. The battery is broken, it only lasts some minutes.

Problem may be a simle matter of the battery contacts needing to be adjusted so they make better contact for charging and use. Use a needle and ~GENTLY~ raise contact bars on either laptop or battery.

I have a asus m6000 laptop the power supply green led flickers when plug in and the power light. I tried different power supply and the same problem. Cheers Greg

Hello.

The most common reasons are the power adapter/cord and power jack.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Also, power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

Hope this helps.

My laptop is not switching to AC mode even when plugged into Ac Power outlet. I work on battery mode and after full battery drain, the laptop goes into hybernation...once into hybernation it starts...

1. You may possibly have a faulty power supply adapter. Contact the manufacturer and see if there are any call backs on the power adapter for you laptop unit
2. you may also have a damaged connector at the laptop connection. This will require repair by a technician.

My daughters power supply for her C640 has a pinch

I suggest you DONT USE PINCH POWER CORD FOR SAFETY.

PLEASE TELL ME IS YOUR POWER CORD & THE PINCHED CORD ARE SAME? I MEAN SAME MODEL? AFTER PLUGING OF YOUR CORD, THE BATTERY CHARGING LIGHTS ITS ON? IF NO THEN I GUESS THAT CABLE NOT SUPPORT HER LAPTOP.
VISIT A DELL SERVICE CENTER OR A SHOWROOM AND BUY NEW CORD WHICH IS MADE FOR YOUR DAUGHTER LAPTOP MODEL.
OTHER WISE SOME CHANCES OF SHORTCIRCUIT ON MOTHERBOARD.

Thanks, i am waiting for your feed back & if you satisfied then thumps me please.

ASUS P5RD1-V MOTHERBOARD BOOT PROBLEM

It sounds like you have a dead battery on your motherboard.  Just replace it and your settings will remain.

Laptop won't staart up.

Hi,
Yes, it should run off AC power even if the battery is removed. Sounds like either the motherboard or your AC adaptor might be failing. I would start by trying the AC adaptor with another dell to verify it it's not dead.

Good luck,
Raf

ASUS A8JP Will Not Power On

"When the charger is connected to an AC source, the green LED shines steady and bright."

are you talking about the led on the AC-adaptor? cause if its that led that dims down, its a defective ac-adapter (even tho you still might not believe me). replace it and try again.

how would you know that the battery is fully charged?

please rate my solution after you have tested if it works out for you :)

My ASUS X83v laptop wont start up, it keeps rebooting.

Try booting in safe mode...if you are able to get into safe mode without it rebooting then you have a driver problem, Try updating all drivers and see if that works. If you can't even get into safe mode, then it could be either, Bad RAM, Motherboard, Corrupted Hard drive or power supply.

To trouble shoot Ram, if you have more than one piece, take all out except for one and try it, if it works, then try the other piece of RAM in the same slot, then try both in the other slot, this will tell you if it's your RAM or your RAM slot.

Motherboard, not much you can do

Corrupted Hard disk, try booting into safe mode with command Prompt and run chkdsk utility on your drive

Power supply, make sure the battery is charging, if possible try another battery fully charged for the same model, remove battery and plug laptop in, unplug and just use battery..

Hope some of this helps you
