Panasonic CQ-C1103U CD Player Logo
Anonymous Posted on Apr 12, 2011

I'm putting panasonic cq-c1103u player into 2001 corolla using an adapter plug. I have all the wires connected from plug to player harness, but the is 2 wires left over from the plug, the blue power antena and the orange illuminator, but only one wire left from the player harness, a blue/white wire. Since there is no power antena, I'm thinking about hooking the orange illuminator wire to the blue/white wire, but the pin of the blue/white wire may not give me the illimination for the player. What do you thing here, and what pin would I nedd to connect the illuminator wire into to get light on the player? Thanks...Eric

Unless you have a power antenna or an external amp, all those are extra wires. just cap them off. the orange wire is only used if the radio has an illumination feature that allows dimming on the radio. it is not needed to see the radio. DO NOT connect the blue/white from the radio to the orange of the harness. whenever you turn the radio on it will send 12V to your cars illumination circuit. this could damage your lights, dash lights and maybe the radios output.

Testimonial: "great information. This saved me a lot of possible damage and gave me the specific advice that I needed. I'm so glad that you could help."

Wiring of a Panasonic CQ-C1001N Car CD Player into a Morris 1000

You can get wiring diagrams on line, do a search using the players full name. Is your morris positive on negative earth? you will have to swap it if it is positive as the player is negative earth only (usually dynamo is +ve and alternators are-ve ) I have changed lots over when dynamos were common, turn the battery round and pull the 2 wires off the dynamo take a wire from the +ve battery terminal  and "wipe it across the 2 terminals on the dynamo, this will make it -ve earth too, re connect the dynamo and off you go

Installation

Yes, if your explorer's stock radio is bigger than the other, just get an adapter kit, walmart, ebay ect., and a wireing harness adapter for that model. Then pull it out and start wiring it up.
