Dryer is taking a longer time than normal to dry unless we switch it to timer. Replace sensors?

  • Remove and clean the lint filter each time it is used. The filter can be washed with warm soapy water to remove fabric softener residue from the screen.
  • Check the household fuses and circuit breakers. Most household dryers use two fuses or circuit breakers. It is possible for only one of them to trip and the dryer still tumble, but not heat.
  • The washer controls may have been improperly set. If the clothes are wetter than normal, coming from the washer, this could be the difficulty. If the gentle speed is selected for a normal load the washer will not spin adequately. High speed or extended spin removes more water from clothing decreasing drying time
A lint filter that is full of lint will restrict airflow and lengthen dry times. To keep your dryer working correctly, clean out the lint folder after each and every use. Check the lint filter for any buildup of fabric softener that will restrict airflow and wash with soapy water to clean. If the filter is damaged then replace it.

My dryer is not drying the clothes. It is a self venting dryer and I clean the filter everytime but the clothes are not drying. The filter light keeps flashing and I think the dryer is turning off.

check the out side vent and make sure that it is not blocked with lint also make sure that the ducting is not kinked or has to many curves in it that will hamper the effects of proper drying

Dryer is running longer than usual, it's tumbling,

no make listed here...I would pull the hose off the back of dryer and see if a lot of air is blowing out of vent. if not, heres your answer a clogged filter area ..if air blowing out leave vent hose off and dry clothes with vent off for one cycle. if clothes dry with vent hose have a venting issue and need your vent cleaned out...
