According to Microsoft it is (and i don't see how) an issue with your video card. Try installing the latest drivers. You may also want to reference http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830651 as it has a lot of info on that game.

age of empires 2 wasn't really designed for mac type computers so i'm afraid it won't work on there sorry about that :)

its maybe a screen problem you may maybe try it on a other bigger or smaller screen ... or you can pirate the game it isnt illegal if you already have the game

Age of empires 3 problem

The error message you got would show up in the following scenarios:
1. DirectX not up-to-date.
2. Video card drivers old.
3. The game being played with a not supported video card.

Check for the above mentioned and it should be either one of them.

you may want to check if its a bug in the game or a mouse issue see if the game have any patches
