When scrolling in any program the window becomes jumpy when I try to scroll up. It jumps up a few lines then back down to where it was before i tried to scroll. I have done all the updates for windows that were available. I tried to instal a mouse update but it said I need 1.1 Net Framework. I currently have 3.5.

It's possible that the scroll-wheel is "locked" in a "down" position.
Press it several times, quickly, and see if it "clicks" and "unlocks".

How can I make my new Logitech mouse scroll smoothly? All I can do now is use the side bar and move it down which takes an immense amount of time. When I scroll down, it jumps about 30 lines. H E L P

Did you install the mouse driver they provided? If so, there should be a SetPoint Settings item in your system tray. Open it and check the Pointer and Scroller Settings and try adjusting the Scrolling Size setting.

Computer screen jumps while scrolling up and down

This could be due to incorrect mouse settings. It may also be an issue with smooth scrolling in Windows. You can try both disabling and enabling smooth scrolling to see setting performs better.

After using for sometime, scroll pad not working well. Cursor stops at any place, vibrating without touching the pad and become impossible to move the cursor in all directions. Then PC has to be shut down...

First Try doing the same in the safemode

Start the Computer with Press F8 key (keep on hitting it before window screen appear)

It will show you the windows advance option

Select the safemode with networking and enter

Login to the user account

Check the Scroll pad if its working fine then there is some problems with software - need update

The screen is covered with red lines

Try logging into BIOS, and check if you still find the red lines, then it will be an issue with the hardware.

(NB to goto BIOS, shut down the computer, keep tapping F10, and then restart the system), that will log you into BIOS)

Screen jumps up / down, scroll wheel not working

My guess is that the scroll-wheel is being pushed down, even when you don't think that you are touching it. It might be "locking" in the "down" position, thus causing it _not_ to work when you do try to scroll.

Expert Mouse scrolling problem

I have the same problem running under win7 64 bit, I have just pulled apart my expert mouse\trackball to clean it and found that the scroll ring works by using a little infrared diode ... so no cleaning required ...

the screws for the base are located under the little rubber feet.

So I think the problem may be more related to drivers\software...
at the moment I cant find a win 64bit driver or mouse works application anywhere
