After a trip to Cancun under humid weather my lens became blurry. It was fine until I went form an air conditioned hotel room to the room's balcony... I can see some pictures taken before and they are ok, but now all the pictures and the lens are all blurry. How can I get the moisture out, how can I fix this? Also, back home, when I tried to download what I had in the camera, the computer gave me an error message!!! I need help Thanks

Re: Moisture? Blurry lens or moisture inside
I haven't tried this myself, but I have heard of folks putting their camera in sunshine, and just let it set , and others have used a hair dryer for short durations. Like I said I haven't tried these, and usually moisture is a camera killer.

I inform you that the problem only is moisture. Please follow this.
1. Put the camera in sunlight for few hours. After that use it & if you face same problem then
2. You need to visit camera repair shop and they open the camera completely and clean all the inside part of the camera. because you need to clean the moisture inside of lens, viewfinder & sensor too.
So only hope in sunlight. If its solve then fine.
it may have moisture inside that could be the root of the problem, try removing battery and card and put it in a jar of rice (rice acts as a great desiccant) and leave for a few days the try your cam again, if problem persists let me know and we'll sure find an answer.
hi, kindly check the lens glass if there's no moisture or finger print because sometime this will cause of blurry picture. after you clean and problem still occur the problem is inside of the lens unit and there's no setting can be repair this. if you have knowledge to repair electronics like camera you need to do is check the lens unit cable if not broken also lens gear if not worn out..
if you can't do this bring to service center and request for estimation first.
If it is brand new, return the camera, and show what is happening. The blurry pictures has to do with a few things. A damaged lens system, a dirty lens, other damage to the lens while it was extended, water or moisture damage can also cause this, including internal circuit damage or broken parts. Make sure it has not had an impact or other damage, because if it had, then more than likely you will have no warranty, and it will not be taken back by the store.
Well then, there's also a blurry dot inside of your lens somewhere, I'm not poking fun at this although it sounds that way. Try putting the whole cam in a bowl of ucooked rice for a 24 hour period, uncovered. Burry it deep. When you take it out shake any loose grains out that may have found their way in. Your blurry dot sounds like a moisture spot. The rice will draw all moisture out of the cam.
Perhaps you have had the camera in a very humid environment and now there is condensation inside? Perhaps try putting it somewhere warm and dry (not hot) for several days. Switch it on and off (and zoom in and out a bit) a few times during this period to change the air inside the lens. This will help expel the moisture.
I assume that it isn't just finger marks on the front of the lense? If it is, you can use a cleaning cloth (for eye glasses or from a camera shop) to clean it.
