Question about Dell OptiPlex GX260 PC Desktop
My desktop was doing great before but now i could not even login because i forget the administrator password. i try to solve by taking out the jumper, cmos battery but i can not solve a problem it gives me a messege "enter a password" i want to install a new operating system but i can not
please help me.
Are you talking about the administrator password in windows? If so it doesn't have to do anything with bios and you have reset the motherboard to factory settings.
To be able to install window xp or vista you will need to set the settings in bios to boot from CD,A,C in that sort of order so that the cd rom will boot. Place in the CD into your primary cd rom/dvd rom and exit saving changes to bios. When the computer goes to start up it will ask you to press any key to continue into installing windows. Follow all the prompts and you can select to install a new version without saving anything.
See how you go, I will be on live Chat on saturday GMT 10.00 time 8p,m onwards.
