Question about Canon Printers & Copiers

2 Answers

I have a Canon Pixma MP520. I was getting a couple of very narrow white lines on my photos, so I did nozzle checks and nozzle cleanings, but those lines still appeared. So I did a Print Head Alignment. Ever since then, the photos don't come out looking like photos. The ink feels very thick on the photo paper and doesn't have that shiny quality as I print on glossy photo paper; they just don't look like photos. I had no problem until I did the first Print Head Alignment. I've done more Print Head Alignments and re-installed the software at least twice. I haven't been able to fix the problem. What do I do; what else can I try? Thanks.

CANON PIXMA MP520 NOT PRINTING BLUE

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

White lines on photo

Take the cartridges out, then take the print-head out and run it under warm water for a few minutes. You could stand it in a saucer of warm water if you like - just the nozzles . Dry it thoroughly - use kitchen town and then refit it into the printer. Put the inks back in and then do some test prints.
It might take 2 or 3 goes but it should clear the blocked nozzle(s)
Inkjets like to be used - it keeps the nozzles clear.

Evenly spaced white lines appear in my photos

The printhead has clogged nozzles, in printer properties you can use the maintenance tab and try deep cleaning until a nozzle check print shows no streaks. When the nozzle check doesn't improve you need a new printhead.QY6-0059-000 around $50.00

Lines through photos

you'll have to clean the printer head. It's possible that your driver can do it automatically. It happens after a long time whitout using the printer. The ink can become dry and solid.

Streaky print out from canon Pixma mp830 all in one

I just bought a PIXMA iP3500. The 1st 2 photos I printed had veritcal White lines. I did a Nozzle Check and Alligned the Print head after the 1st photo printed. The 2nd still had the lines. Then I changed brands of Glossy Photo Paper and tried a 3rd time. This time I noticed that it printed much slower and it turned out just fine. Information says that you should have the settings at "high" not "standard". Double check that this hasn't inadvertently changed back to Standard. Gator
