Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a brand new (purchased this past Thursday) Troy Bilt 6.75 Self Propelled mower. I made one pass this past Saturday and then the mower started to die and the completely quit running and the pull rope is locked up and will not budge a bit. Any possible suggestions to this problem before I take it back? Thanks J.E.S.

You should always include the model number for devices in your request. At the moment, we cannot determine if your mower is 2 or 4 cycle and it makes a difference. Your description sounds like a 2-cycle that was run with no oil in the gasoline and has seized because of it. 4-cycle engines have a crankcase and the engine stays lubricated from that but 2-cycles have no other lubrication besides the small amount of oil added to the fuel by the operator.

If I was you I would already be on my way back to the store, Usually If one thing goes wrong there are more to come! Personal Opinion, did you check for oil in the mower? First though second only to twine, rope, or wires wrapped up in the blade, what ever you chose to do,

Best Wishes and Good Luck!!

Own a Troy Bilt self-propelled model #12A-466-M011 for a year now. It worked great when first got it. Now it will not clear the grass underneath so cuts off every 15 feet and have to manually clear grass...

I had the same problem with my Troy-Bilt self propelled lawn mower. You have to use the grass catcher if your grass is high. Also, I mowed wet grass and it made my belt slip off the pulley and created a new problem, somowing wet grass is definitely not a good idea.

Pull mower rope on troy built self propelled mower and it jerks it back out of your hand, hard,,and will not start

Hi,
This sounds like the engine is out of time.
Usually this happens when the blades hit something hard and shears a small aluminum"key" between the crank shaft and the flywheel.
This is reparable. The little key is less than a buck. A person needs some skills to remove the flywheel to replace the "key".

How do you remove the gears on a front wheel self propelled troy bilt push mower?

Take the front tires off, pull gears and take out pins, put tires back on and you have a "non-self propell" mower.

We just bought a Troy Bilt 6.75 self propelled mower. I have not used it yet myself, my husband has. He is out of town and I am having trouble starting. It does not have a primer or choke. Is there...

Read the manual for starting procedures, if you are following the stated procedures and the mower will not start then contact Lowes and explain the issue.
Depending on the store they may offer to have you bring it in so that they can see what may be the issue, if they are not interested in offering some customer service after purchase they will give you a 1-800-TUF-LUCK number to find a servicing dealer. A brand new mower should not be difficult to start even for those with short arms. I have the same mower except non propelled and it has been the best starting mower I've ever owned for the five years since purchase. I have always found it best to deal with a local hardware store or dealer when purchasing items such as chain saws, mowers or other outdoor power equipment, I pay a few more dollars (and I do mean a few) but the direct customer service is well worth every extra penny!

Lawn mower cable won't pull to start engine. troy bilt 210 self propelled mower.

It's possible the rope came out of it's pulley groove and is jammed inside the engine housing.
