REPLACED THE CONTROL SWITCH W/REGULATOR ON/OFF SWITCH. NOW IT RUNS BUT THE PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE IS POPPING. DID NOT HAVE THAT PROBLEM PRIOR

The pressure switch shuts the motor off when a designated pressure is reached. If you took that unit off then it wont shut off and builds pressure until the safety valve opens.

My compressor does not hold pressure, no leaks that I am aware of. When I press are gun pressure goes way down.

May just be bad pressure regulator. Easy test. Let out all the air from the compressor. Find and remove the safety valve. Install a tee fitting where safety was installed and reinstall safety and a quick fitting at the other port. Now let compressor fill and shut off. Connect gun to temporary quick fitting for test. Replace the regulator as needed (you can install a generic pressure regulator at the temp. fitting for fast repair). You do not have to uninstall the test fitting.

It is not opening the bypass valve all the way see if there is a adjustment so that it pushes the valve open farther when it slows down.

I have a Sears evolv 3 gal air compressor that will not inflate a auto tire, even a partially de-flated tire. I let the pressure build to 100 psi and checked all fittings. Still wil not do it. Compressor...

The evolv air compressor was primarily designed to power a very small nailer. The pressure regulator (knob in front) should be turned clockwise till it stops to attain full pressure. At this setting it should air your tire. If not you may have a defective regulator. There is a trick to get full pressure from your tank. Notice the small pressure safety valve on the side of the unit. You could remove this valve and install a fitting giving you two ports. One for the safety and other for a quick disconnect. This second port will give you access to tank pressure without going thru the pressure regulator. This mod is safe because you still have access to regulated pressure when you need it. Good luck

Put new switch on compressor and now wont shut off.

the regulator is failing to do its job. make sure you have it set properly. if you did, you will likely need a new one. also remember to drain the compressor every month to prevent rust from moisture build up in the tank. good luck.

60 gal farm hand air compressor starts, builds up pressure, but won't restart when pressure drops. After cool restarts.

Your pressure switch may be malfunctioning or the start capacitor may be starting to fail.
