Question about Sony MDR-7502 Professional Headphones

Open Question

Hello, I have a pair of Sony MDR 7502 proffesional headphones and one of the clips that connects the actual headphone to the over head piece fell out whilst walking. I couldn't find it and was wondering if it was possible to get a replacement part? Regards Alex

SOURCE: ear pad replacement instructions for Sony MDR-V6 Headphones

Hello to all who have exhausted all avenues seeking instructions on how to remove and replace Ear Pads on Sony MDR-V6 Headphones.... All that is required is a little patience maybe some fingernails... The Pads simply slip on and off by pinching ends of cuff that is nearest the plastic backing of The Headphones by pulling them from their seat/flange .. i found it easiest to just roll the cuff off using my thumb w/rolling motion away from the plastic backing/housing of the headphones.. no tools required.. they are installed exactally like one would place a tire on a rim.. exact same motion is required as when removing a tire.. i can give no better illustruction than comparrison to tire removal and replacement. Be careful to make sure one end in completely set deeply into one side before attempting to pull opposing side over its side/flange..start on top and work way around to bottom or vise versa.. To get an idea of what you are attempting to do take a close look at new headphone pad rear and you will see the small flap of leather on rear .. there is a small overlap that fits perfectly over the flange.. dont try to force it as you may tear them...

You can go to Radio Shack and find some that fit. Although Sony does not sell them as they woudl ofcourse want you to purchase new ones you can buy third party cushions that fit.

SOURCE: How to Rewire Sony MDR-7506 headphones

Okay, cut and strip the cord. There should be two copper wires and (on Sony headphones, at least) a red and a green strand. On a new 1/8" jack, there should be three connections. The middle one is left, and is where the green one goes. The short one on the side is right, and is where the red one goes. The long bit is the common, and is where the copper one goes. Before you solder, however, remember which strand is which, because you have to sand or burn off the colored enamel. (Use a fine grain paper, or use a standard lighter or stick match- anything else might damage or melt the wire)

Do the headphones work with any other devices? If so then it's the I-Pod socket that is faulty. Otherwise check out my tip on headphone problems. Just click my user name to find it.

Sony MDR-XB700 broken left ear

You could try to use a player with a stereo balance and adjust that, but in reality you need new headphones. Sonys have very comfortable and flexible cabling but the downside is that they wear out easily.

Only one side turns on. I returned them and got another pair only to have the same problem.

Its not the head phones. Try them in some other unit. You must be getting just a mono conection. Try cleaning the inside of the phone jack or ck for a mono button on the unit..Sony Phones are great you would never get 2 bad pairs in a row. try this DFD

It's actually quite easy to open up ... the pad just slips off, and its really easy to get back on and there is a set of three small t screws underneath that just need unscrewing and then you're inside
