Hello,

You have to install the drivers of the PC, If you have CD utility then insert it to the CD/DVD ROM and then install the Chipset, VGA, Audio, and other drivers.

If not find cd utility then you can download it from here:

may this help you.

Dg31gl

Randy,

Here is the main support page at Intel Support, for the Intel DG31GL desktop computer motherboard;

http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/dsktpboards/dg31gl

[ If the "Take a minute and tell us what you think!" window comes up, my advice is to skip it. Click on No. This motherboard is at the end of it's interactive support ]

Under the heading -> Intel Desktop Board DG31GL, and the subheading underneath it -> Latest Downloads, click on the blue -
Audio Realtek ALC Audio Driver.

[Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device

The device is the audio (sound) chipset
What version of Windows operating system was not stated ]

You will see two audio drivers listed. Both are version 6201.

HOWEVER, note that the top audio driver is for the Windows Vista operating system, (Size: 97MB), and the bottom audio driver is for the Windows XP operating system. {Home or Pro, it does not matter} (Size: 96.99MB)

Choose the one that matches the Windows operating system, you have on your computer, and go to the right; and click on - Download.

I'm going to use the Windows XP version for an example;
AUD_XP_5.10.0.6201.PV.exe

Click on Download to the right
On the next page click on the empty circle, to the right of -
I accept the terms in the license agreement

A small window will pop up on the right -
Opening AUD_XP_5.10.0.6201_PV.exe
Click on -> Save File

A small download window will pop up.
Allow the file to download all the way, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.

This is an Execute file. (.exe)
Windows will probably come up with an
"OMG, .......are you like sure, you want to use this execute file"

Or maybe it's more like, "Warning this is an execute file, and can ya-da, ya-da your computer"

Advise click on Yes.
At the bottom of the next 3 small windows, click on Next, Next, and Finish.

When you are finished close all windows, (Red X), go back to your desktop screen.
Now Restart your computer.

You also may not have the Volume icon in your taskbar, anymore.
It's the speaker icon usually down by the time........

Click on Start > Control Panel. (Windows XP)
Now click on > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices.
In the next window click on > Sounds and Audio Devices

In the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window, go down to the middle to the blue > Device volume

Click on the empty sqaure to the left of -
Place volume icon in the taskbar
(Puts a green checkmark in it)

Now go to the bottom Right, and click on Apply.
THEN go to the bottom Left, and click on OK.

Please post additional questions in a Comment.

How to clean out and reinstall acer 6070 desktop

If you are talking about reinstalling windows it will clean out the old version for you. It will also remove all your data, documents, music, pictures, videos and programs. It will do a fresh install of the operating system.

You'll need an operating system disk that is the same version as the Certificate of Authentication (COA) sticker that is affixed to your computer. If your COA Sticker says Windows Vista Home Premium, you cannot use an operating system disk that says Vista Home Basic. If they don't match, when it comes time to activate windows it will not work. When you activate windows and it asks for your Key Code use the series of 5 letters and numbers that are on your COA Sticker not the one from the cd you used to install because you might have borrowed the cd.

I could not upgrade neither windows XP, Windows 7 of this Product Model: GT5662. Would you assits? Thanks.

Hello kelvinvu, according to the information that I gathered from this computer model, it has Windows Vista 32 bit home premium installed on it. Windows XP is an older operating system so you can't "upgrade" to it. You could however install a fresh copy (more likely completely erasing all your previous information on vista and data files) or you could upgrade to Windows 7. Since you are using "Windows Vista 32 bit home premium", you have to upgrade to "Windows 7 32 bit home premium" or better. So if you were trying to "upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Basic, it will not allow that since it considers that a downgrade in the Operating System. You should actually be able to pop in the Windows 7 Home Premium CD while vista is running and start the upgrade process pretty painlessly that way. Just access the CD and walk through the menus for upgrading Vista to Windows 7. As a reminder, you must use the 32 bit discs. If you try and use the 64 bit discs (a different operating system as far as windows is concerned) you will have to go through the same process of installing a new version of windows (not upgrade). I hope this has solved your specific problem kelvinvu, have a great day!

I cannot install ethernet driver of hp compaq d530. Where can i find it?

Hello: I hope the following information is helpful.
If you are trying to install the driver for the Broadcom ethernet NIC that was pre-installed (NOT an ethernet card that you purchased and installed yourself), there is a softpack (updated driver installation) download available from HP/Compaq. It will install the driver automatically for you, just download it from the link below and run the ".exe" file.
IMPORTANT: Check to be sure that your current Operating System, and model of the network device you are trying to install, are BOTH listed below BEFORE you download!
This is a software / driver update for the HP Compaq d530 ultra-slim desktop: All Models

Pro tools m-powered problem

You may need to check to see which "service pack" you are currently on.

See below requirements:

System Software — Windows XP & Vista
  • Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition
    • 32-bit OS Installation Only
  • Windows XP Professional or Home Edition
    • With Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3

  • Not Supported:
    • Windows Vista 64-bit (any version)
    • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
    • Windows XP Media Center Edition
    • Windows 98, Me, 2000, NT, 95, 3.1, DOS

  • Not Tested:
    • Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition
    • Although Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, there are currently no known issues with Vista Home and Home Premium 32-bit operating systems and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 compared to the supported Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition operating systems.

Windows Vista SP1
There are currently no known issues with Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista based on our initial limited testing and customer feedback. Although full qualification with all Digidesign products has not been completed, we do not recommend against updating to SP1, given the number of important overall system fixes in SP1. We do recommend that you backup your system and create a restore point before updating to SP1, should you encounter any problems after installing the update.

The wireless devive on my sony vgn-ns190j is not working

Could you please describe the fault in more detail? In particular:

1. What operating system are you running (e.g. Windows XP, Windows Vista Home Premium)?

2. Has it only just stopped working? Did anything happen before it stopped working (e.g. reinstalled Windows)?

3. Is the wireless card working (Is there a light which flashes?)?

4. (If not,) Is the wireless switch turned on?

5. Do any devices show up at all in the list of detected wireless devices?

6. Are there any red crosses or yellow question marks in the Device Manager (go through Control Panel, then System)?

I can give you specific information on how to check the above when I know your Operating Systesm.

You could also check the Sony help file by doing the following:

Click Start > All Programs > SmartWi Connection Utility.

Downgrade Acer M1641 from Vista home premium to Windows XP

Its a driver incompatibility issue. Many hardware components designed for Vista are incompatible with XP. This means that the Realtek audio driver may be the Vista version. Also, some hardware has of yet no XP drivers, so your audio components were designed for Vista only.
While it may be possible to "force" the driver to work, it may involve a number of hacks to the Windows registry and other files.
