Is there someone there that could provide the Make/Model# and a description of the problem that includes a modicum of detail.

Try this role reversal exercise: Imagine I'm not standing there looking at your problem device. That I can't see it, that I've never seen it. That I haven't the smallest glimmer of what kind of turmoil it has caused you. That my entire awareness of your problem is based on those seven cryptic syllables you managed to shout across the ether. "ON OFF LIGHT BLINKS NOTHING WORKS"

The only thing I do know, is that someone (who could be dyslexic - LIGHT BLINKS ON OFF vs. ON OFF LIGHT BLINKS) is shouting about a blinking light on what might (or might not) be an HP Printer of indeterminate pedigree.

So I'm off to help someone that actually wants help. Have a nice day.

One more thing: TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK.

Actually this is quite simple..... for most HP printers a blinking ON/Off light ( and nothing else working) means that a HARDWARE fault has occured, unfortunately there is no real repair for this save calling HP to see if they can repair it under warranty (or to try a "hard reset")

Nothing will print; blinking amber light

Are you out of ink? when you open the lid to the printer while it is turned on look at were your ink cartridge stops and that will tell you if you are out of colour or black ink. Which light is blinking the one on top of the paper symbol or the one on top of the ink symbol. It may be that your cartridge either black or white just need to be taken out and put back in I found that if I wiped the bottom of the ink cartridge where sometimes you get build up that it would work again or give it a shake but make sure you cover up the bottom were the ink comes out before you shake it. Hope this helps!

The printer apear to be dead!

Buttons and lights on the printer Two buttons and three lights are located on the front of an HP Deskjet printer.
  • The lights tell when the printer is working or when it needs attention.
  • The buttons help control the printer.
Buttons and lights Purpose c00123886.jpg POWER button and light Push the POWER button to turn the printer off and on. When lit, the light shows that the printer is turned on. c00123889.jpg RESUME button and light The light blinks when there is a problem with paper. When the problem is corrected, press the button. c00123892.jpg Print cartridge light The light blinks when there is a problem with a print cartridge. When the problem is corrected and the top cover is closed, the light will stop blinking. Troubleshooting blinking printer lights Blinking lights Reason c00123895.jpg

All lights are off. The printer is off (asleep).

Press the POWER buttonc00123886.jpg to turn the printer on.

The printer should turn on automatically when a print job is sent to it. c00123898.jpg

The POWER (top) light is on. The printer is idle.

The printer is ready to print a document. c00123900.jpg

The POWER (top) light is blinking. The printer is busy printing.

Allow enough time to print. When a document has many fonts or graphics or uses complex color such as a color photo, it takes longer to begin printing. c00123902.jpg

The PRINT CARTRIDGE (bottom) light is blinking. Possible causes:

  • The front cover is open. Make sure the front cover is completely closed.
  • The print cartridge is missing. Make sure the print cartridge has been installed correctly.
  • The print cartridge is broken or incompatible. Lift the front cover, and wait for the print-cartridge cradle to slide out. Check the part numbers on the print cartridge:

Black: 51645A

Color: C1823D,

If the print cartridges are compatible and correctly installed, they may be defective. Try replacing the print cartridges.

If none of the above suggestions fix the problem, and, if the error message still occurs, it may be a hardware failure. Call the HP Customer Support Center.

HELP!

hi, the blinking is caused by a fault in the printer, means it needs to be serviced, its usually more expensive for them to fix it than buying a new one, but you can get there number off the canon website.

Happy New Year

"Printing" but nothing comes out......

Hey dear you did not describe the full detail. Light is continuously blinking and nothing is coming out from the printer OR printer is not printing anything. If the printer is not printing anyting and light continuously blinking. It means printer is not properly getting the data. You have to change the 'encoder' (a transparent strip goes through the carriage) and you have to clear the round transparent encoder present left side in the mechanical with wet cotton. After this your printer will work smoothly.
