Make sure you are using the correct cartridges for your model. Try to remove both the cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power outlet to reset itself. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges when prompted. Close the cover and check for any error. If none, try to print again.

Hi. Paper will only feed in partway. Keep getting error message: Alignment problem : 1. remove tape from cartidges(done) 2.check paper(done). Press checkmark to retry. Nothing works it just keeps feeding...

You may have some very small debris in the printer.
Using a flashlight, look carefully for any debris, however small, and remove it.

Get some "canned air" at any computer or office supply store and blow out the inside of the printer. That tends to dislodge small particles you can't see.

My Lexmark 5470 won't print anything but the alignment page. Then it says to remove the tape from the cartridge. There is no tape on the cartridge. I have cleaned it and it still won't print. Help I need...

I have the same problem as posted by tahoeowner. The printer indicates that I have an alignment issue and tells me to remove any tape from the cartridge. There is no tape on either cartridge, nor will the printer work with any other cartridges. I'm getting tired of wasting paper and ink with all the printer's "retry" messages.
