Question about Canon IPF6100 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I am happy to pay something for advice. This pretty specific and unless you are familiar with this printer unlikely that you can help. The canon 1pf 6100 allows for roll feed and sheet feed. I am currently using 11 by 17 sheets which are being fed into the machine using the 11 inch dimension (ie vertically). The printer dialog sees it as being loaded horizontally and so the print comes out in portrait mode rather then landscape. If you can help I can send a snapshot of the printer dialoge box. Thanks Dennis

From your description,it seems that other material present inside your printer and blocking the paper path. Sometimes, broken paper feeder indicates the same way. I recommend you to bring your printer to the nearest service center unless you are quit familiar with assembly and reassembly of this printer.

Driver Canon Mp560 for Linux Ubuntu

Scanning software is no problem for this multi-function printer.

The more generic printer functions will most likely be recognized when the system detects hardware connected via USB hub.

Unlike Windows there's no need to find vendor specific drivers to install, reboot, pray, reboot, etc.

Canon mp500 will not print and shows a 6A00 error.

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Paper feed jamms the paper all the time, will not feed without jamming from bottom tray, top tray jams every 2 to 3 prints or print with the top corner bent

Unless both feeder rollers went bad at the same time, which is unlikely, it must have something to do with the paper. It might be slightly damp, or not the correct kind. Try using high quality matte white paper from a brand new pack and see whether it still jams.

CAM broken

The information you were given is unlikely to be true, unless the part was no longer available (which would be pretty unlikely if the machine were new as you stated). If you can provide a model number AND an indication of what cam your repairman was referring to, I would be happy to check on that part's availability.

Printer cartridge low

It is very unlikely that this is a sensor issue. The ink is probably dry or the cartridge itself is clogged. You could get a syringe and possibly inject something into the top of the cartridge to thin the ink, but unless you literally just installed the cartridge it probably isn't worth your time. I think there are ink refill kits online for these.

Adding new ink might also help to thin the old ink.
