I have a DC41 Animal. It has suction through the hose. When I try to vacuum it stops sucking through the hose but seems to have no suction in the base and the beater roller doesn't work.

Check for a clothes peg at the motor iintake port. They can get that far then jam at the curve so tight youll wonder how you missed it. It will drastically reduce suction yet not cause a clog , and you can't see it

Vaccum blowing not sucking

Sounds like you've got a plug. Take the hose off, it should be plain to see if its in the wand or in the hose. Work your way from the bottom to where it goes into the bag but it's almost always in the base where the dirt turns to go up the hose. There may be a trap door on the bottom of your machine giving you access to that particular spot.

Good Luck!

if you have a shop vac you can try blowing it out. for some reason this works better. You also might try a coat hanger with a U bend at the end.

My attachments won't ****

Hi
If the machine is picking up from underneath the hose must be blocked. Try dropping a coin into the hose and see if it comes out the other end

Dyson DC14 won't **** from hose but works fine otherwise

There is probably a clog in the U-bend on the back of the unit at the bottom. Removed with a twist of a plastic screw by a coin or screw driver. If not in the U-bend check in the hose/wand.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. 1st. I do not know the brand name and model # fr the vacuum so the next time include that type of information. So, if you removed the towel from the hose section then there almost has to be something in the powerhead and the power nozzle neck there would have to be a clog and you need to open the powernozzle and look for a clog of some sort in the power nozzle or the wand section that would block the flow of the dust and dirt to the canister section. Check your owner’s manual to see the trouble shooting section for unclogging your vacuum. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Thanks, Don the Vac Man

FLexible hose has no suction

It is possible that the hose at the base has deformed under suction and is blocking the airflow. I have found this to be the case on mine. Air is being drawn in from a bypass valve near the base and to the left of the hose so it makes a suction noise but does not have any pull at the nozzle.

Eureka Enviro Vac Model 4470 Not Sucking

First, check to see if there is suction without the hose on the base. If not, and there is no blockage, the problem is likely a damaged impeller, the small fan that makes the suction. That will have to be replaced.

My dirt devil vacuum won't suck up anything and its brand new!!

Take the vac bag off and turn on the vac , it should blow air out, if not unclogg the hose where the bag connects, also when you check the roller and belt, unclog the flex hose(located inside base near roller assembly) that sucks up the dirt. As long as the motor works fine the rest is just maint.
