I have a Kingston Data Traveler 2GB USB Flash Drive which I bought 2weeks ago. Whenever I plug it in one of my usb ports, i get a message which says "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB Devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." I tried plugging in the device in other computers but still i get the same message. The OS of the computers I've tried are all Windows XP. The device worked fine for the past week until recently. Is it the device that has the problem or what..?Thanks..
-   This drive I have (kingston data traveller 2 gb usb) has always worked like a charm until today. It still works in my laptop, which runs windows xp but when I plugged it into my vista computer it said it installed then did the autoplay. It started to display all the files and then froze up and I could go no further. I need to be able to access these files from my Vista computer because it is my main computer and the data traveller has all my work files on it (which are not currently on my vista computer because I just got the computer back yesterday from the Gateway repair shop).
I did try taking everything off and reformatting it but it does not get picked up after that. Even the status light on it doesn't even light up and no notifications of it show up. I tried it in a different usb port but there was no reaction there either, so I don't think it is the usb port messed up.
I tried searching for driver help for it and the kingston website only has one for windows 98SE, not Vista.-   Guest

-   I cannot view my kingston data traveler 2GB in my computer.
Windows Vista recognizes the drive, says that it has installed the driver?
But then i can't find the drive in the my computer.
I have also had problems adding other flash drives to my laptop.
However, I can connect my digital camera's sd card throught the usb?
Also I know that the flash drive works as it works on xp.
thanks

I just got a generic 16gb flash drive and just about every media file i copy there gets corrupted. Altough it's not every time it's about 95%. Is there anything i can do to remedy this or does the problem lie with the drive itself? Thanks.
I have a Kingsotn 2 GB USB flash drive. I works in my home computer, however when I plug it in to my work computer, and try to open it, I get a message that says Please insert disk into drive e.
I have the same problem, and I have tried it in about 20 different computers. It only works in half of them, and I get the "not recognized" error in the other half. The error always shows up on the same computers, and always works on the same computers, it is not random. All PC's run XP SP2.
