What is the error code that you see? I could be more specific if I knew!
The majority of the error codes that keep the program from launching are usually dot net (microsoft .net) or windows installer related. TurboTax needs .net 3.5 or newer in order to run the program.
If I were you, I would uninstall the software and then go to Microsoft Fix it on the internet and let ir repair the problems with your pc and then try installing the software again. There are two error repairs that are relivant to your situation on the Fix it website. One is under windows and the other under Internet Explorer. Run both repairs - first click on "Windows" then click the first fix that is on the top of the list in section two. When finished, click on "internet explorer" and again click the first fix under the second catagory and follow the prompts to allow Microsoft to repair your pc. The services on that site are free. Good luck!

Our MYOB 14 .dat file is crashing. We suspect a corrupt entry in the database. The file will open but as soon as we trying to do anything the program closes and produces the following error: MYOB must terminate. Termination Code 1284 Important Details: Error -3000 in DMGTEKey (5037:7000:69) Seems to be the same error every time. We have tried running MYOB's Verify and Optimise tools with no luck. Each time either tool is run the program crashes and displays the error: An error occurred while attempting to compact the database. DM Error = (-3000-5049-7000-158) Restoring from a backup is not an option as last backup was 3 months ago. So looking for solutions to fix the current file please. Will not be satisfied if the solution is to take it to MYOB. Need someone who can actually dig around inside the file and correct the errors??
This is a repeated error code which despite Vista SP1 being installed has not cured my problem. However I can offer this slight bit of salvation which has done me well over the past 12 months. Should any updates fail to down load and all your favourite error codes suddenly manifest themselves - do the following. Go into microsoft support and type in the download, ie KB12345, it may take a while to find the right branch of Microsoft, but in every occasion I have found what I have been looking for. I hope this helps.
