Hello
Being a graduate in electronics, things will be easy for you to understand. There is no doubt, that it is due to the power inverter board. As you know, it is a switched mode type supply system, from which all the secondary supply voltage are taken, and given to different circuit board of the TV. At first when we switch on TV, firs starting voltages to system control section will be energised, and after that the main system contol IC detects the other sections and will give signal to the power supply section again to generate, high voltages to supply other sections. In your TV, system IC detects all well at first, give command to to the power supply section that generates the other working voltages, it obeys, and give voltages to other sections, works well. But after some time, say 15 secons or so, as you indicates her, the system itsef finds some troube [either it may to the power supply reguator or some other faults in other circuit board]; gove command to stop the high voltage power supply one by one ad finally shuts off, repeats the process again and again. I thinks that you got me.
you will be able to detect its fault, as you have enough knoldege to follow its schematic diagram, which can be downloaded for one site, for ablolutely free. Download it, and follow the power supply section first. keep a keen look for any loose sodering terminals on that section. Just disconnect sound section supply line first, and check whether it works well. If it works well, make sure that the power sound section has the fault, Try this way to each section and you can get information about which supply line goes to wich section from the circuit diagram.
