Replacing a thermostat on a heat pump with a Honeywell Pro Th3000 series non-programmable digital - Can not get the unit to com on

    Follow the procedure below to configure the thermostat to match the installed heating/cooling system, and customize feature operation as desired. Setup function Settings & options (factory default in bold) 1 System type TH3110D only 0 Gas, oil or electric heat with air conditioning 1 Heat pump (5 minute compressor off time in heating and cooling) 5 Heating cycle rate (CPH: cycles/hour) TH3110D only 5 For gas or oil furnaces of less than 90% efficiency 1 For steam or gravity systems 3 For hot water systems & furnaces of over 90% efficiency 9 For electric furnaces [Other cycle rate options: 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 or 12 CPH] 6 Auxiliary heat cycle rate (CPH) TH3210D only 5 For gas or oil furnaces of less than 90% efficiency 1 For steam or gravity systems 3 For hot water systems & furnaces of over 90% efficiency 9 For electric furnaces [Other cycle rate options: 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 or 12 CPH] 8 Emergency heat cycle rate (CPH) TH3210D only 9 For electric emergency heat 1 For steam or gravity systems 3 For hot water systems & furnaces of over 90% efficiency 5 For gas or oil furnaces of less than 90% efficiency [Other cycle rate options: 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 or 12 CPH] 9 Compressor cycle rate (CPH) 3 Recommended for most compressors [Other cycle rate options: 1, 2, 4, 5, or 6 CPH] 14 Temperature display 0 Fahrenheit 1 Celsius 15 Compressor protection 5 Five-minute compressor off time **See page 8 [Other options: 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4] Function number Setting To begin, press and hold the s and t buttons until the display changes. Your new t/stat need to be configured the best solution is to call tech support they are great I;am an A/C tech and I call them anytime I have a problem 1800 468-1502

If you have a heat pump, then yes. If you have a gas furnace then no. If you have a HP and the reversing valve is not connected, then you might just be using the emergency electric heat strips. :-o

Depends on what type of heat you have...gas, oil , electric, heat pump? Make sure it is the right thermostat for your heat source. Some thermostats have a switch on the back for fuel or electric.

you need to change the differential pressure to 3 degrees.that means the unit will not kick on unit it is 3 degrees warmer then the setpoint

your trane heat pump energizes the reversing valve with O - orange y - is to turn on the unit make sure you have your orange wire hooked up and the tstat programming set to heatpump otherwise your reversing valve might be bad

Wc wiring on thermostat


sounds like you have a heat pump the w2 on old thermostat is for a second stage heat. If you can give me a little more information on type of system you have (forced air furnace with heat/cool, Heat pump or boiler)? How many wires are on old thermostat? Is it a no programmable or programmable? How old is the furnace?

I don't know if this will be helpful or not, but I just installed a new Honeywell and the Honeywell customer service guy helped me get the wires done correctly. The number is 800-468-1502.
