The previous receiver may be got hanged on stand by mode.Unplugging and reconnecting the sub from receiver, reset the receiver and it started working. Many a times, this occurs. The internal component in the receiver board gets bit overheated and goes in stand by mode.Unplugging and replugging resets the board and it starts working. But if in case this same problem occurs again again, then its time to check receiver circuit board.Any of the electrical component on the receiver circuit board is getting weak or shorted or its soldering is got loose. It has to be checked and re-soldered to resolve the problem. At preset the reset helped. And the same receiver is working. Thanks for the update.Helpmech.

When the components on the board gets weak, due to this such problems occur. But in your case, unplugging and replugging helped. This is a system reset. To unplug and replug. But if in case, the same problem repeats again n again, then ion that case only.Any of the electrical component on the receiver circuit board is getting weak or shorted or its soldering is got loose. It has to be checked and re-soldered to resolve the problem. At preset the reset helped. And yes you can continue using it.-------------- Thanks for the update.Thanks.Helpmech.

The Sub-Woofer can be jammed on the coils and so is not responding to the signal. You can remove and feel the free movement of the coil , if jammed the sub woofer is faulty. If the coil moves then check the continuity with a multimeter in the ohms range. If this seems good then the sub woofer power amplifier is not working and so when you switch on the power amplifier activates and the load thud is heard. It can be that the preamplifier is faulty at the input selector.
The power supply is working and so the fuse is intact. hence you need to open the unit to check for the signal source to the main amplifier.

Most likely there has been a power surge when you turned it off - this has in turn fried the preamplifier or the filter, generating the white noise you now hear.
The preamp must be checked, the fried/shorted parts identified and replaced - in the worst case scenario the entire filter/preamp board will have to be replaced. This requires a good experience in electronics - if you don't have it then you must take the sub to an electronics repair shop.

Monster power strips are POS - the surely caused it. Do not ever buy or use any Monster product again - they are just overhyped, expensive garbage.

Then you have a bad signal cable - replace it.

QS10 powered sub, won't turn on while plugged in

It is possible that your powered sub is in standby mode until it is turned on by audio input from your amp. Usually there is some type of indicator that shows power is being applied to the sub. Also, there could be an open fuse inside the sub.

My wireless subwoofer keep cutting off and coming back on when the music or movie is playing

Some/most Sub Woofers have a Switch that turns them Off/On/ or Auto. On Auto, the Sub only turns on when there is a signal present. ( sound coming into the Sub ) When there is no signal, the sub goes into standby mode. Wireless subs may be made to be in standby mode as the default.

Ps3 goes to standby mode as soon as turn on

Same here. Just re-flowed it for the second time. Now when I hit the switch in the back it automatically turns on, ejected the game inside, beeped twice, then goes back to solid red. If I try to turn it on it just stays solid red.

Clicking noise from sub when in standby mode

Disconnect the input. Does it stop? If yes...

It sounds like it's sensing a signal at its turn-on threshold. Figure out why there's signal present when it shouldn't be there.

Exactly how is it connected to the source? LFE-only or full-range signal?

My Polytron TV is on standby mode. I used the remote but wont turned off

When you turn that TV "off" with the remote it go's into standby mode, that is the way they made it unfortunatly
To actualy make it not have any power going to it you will have to unplug it or plug it into a power strip and use the switch on the power strip.
They use the standby mode to allow the TV to turn on quickly without making you wait.

Akai LCD TV wont turn on

Hello davidshu,

The issue seems to be a power supply problem. The television has a switching power supply. This might be the problem. I would suggest getting it repaired at a television repair shop due to the possible complexity of the work that needs to be done.
