Question about Panasonic Televison & Video

I have a Panasonic Model Number PT-56LCZ70, it is only a little over 3 years old. I have had to replace the lamp unit twice, now the TV just goes off and the red light blinks 8 times. We have done what the manusl says ie: unplug the unit and wait 5 seconds. That worked for 2 weeks. Now what is the problem????????????????

There is a sensor where the door of the bulb is located. You will need to purchase (or by-pass) the door sensor to allow your tv to function again. It is located inside the small hole nearest the screws for the bulb door.

    Yes your solution was tried. It gets very hot in that compartment but it did not solve my problem.

    I would have ask you to located the thermal fuse located above the lamp housing next. It is small ans black. Often this over heats and trips causing the 8 blink error

    Sorry that I have not gotten back sooner, have been out of town. Tried your solution worked for one day. Now what happens we have to turn off the power for 10 minutes then turn back on. Sometimes it works for 2-3 days then does the same thing. TV makes a crackle noise, fan goes off, then the tv goes off. Now it will not stay on for more than 2 minutes. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I would think that the fact that when you held the power button in for a long time that would give you a hint! If the power button is making a poor contact there will be a small surge of power and some parts of the internal circuits will respond(indicator lights, for example). Try REPLACING THE ON/OFF BUTTON.

I cant figure out where my lamp bulb for my panasonic model pt-56lcz70 is located so i can replace it


You have to remove the back panel of the TV - bottom portion. It is a total of 8-10 screws - just took mine apart 30 min ago. Once you do that the LIFI4000 unit is on the right side (looking at the rear of the TV). Next you must unscrew the whole electronics shelf which runs across the whole back of the TV. There are 3-5 screws on bottom and 2 above the electroics in middle of TV. Then the whole shelf will slide out. There are approx 6-8 wires you have to unplug to get the electronics out. Be careful not to mess them up. The power supply for the LIFI4000 is a separate unit and sits on top. This must be unscrewed first and then lifted off of the LIFI assembly. Not knowing how this assembly came apart i wasted alot of time unscrewing all the screws I could find to get the assmbly apart. Be careful not to lose any screws. The LIFI unit pulls out of the end of the rest of the electronics assembly.

The tv is only 4 years old and just stopped working while we were watching it. it is a "52 model number pt-52lcx65-ka.


Hi,
If lamp in tv has not been replaced in last 3-4 years then check lamp and replace it.
Did tv showed lamp replacement requires warning/ message on screen before going to shut down?
Did you hear any pop sound inside tv when it get shut down? that pop sound could be lamp that got broken.

Power Supply is the problems.The lamp problems you will not have picture at all.U said have power and picture all day sometimes right?Power supply board have intermitten problems.

Panasonic PT-56LCZ70...according to the manual it's "malfunction 9"...lamp light blinking red twice.


Just curious when all of you purchased tv's. We purchased ours in Jan. 2008. and is now having the malfunction 9. Online manuel says this is a lamp problem and lamps have a two year labor 5 year part warranty so I am working on getting it taken care of under warranty as I have heard lamps are pretty spendy. I will try to let you know how it turns out....Any updates on yours???
