Hey,

It is all because the Microphone is not set as a default device to start recording.

Its like your computer has no device for recording even if the computer has connected with Mic.

Just change the settings and enjoy..!!!

I want to restore my acer aspire 5920 to factory settings without disk.also a toshiba recovery disc was tried so now it thinks its a toshiba. help please

Hi There ,
Try restoring from restore point if possible. You should be able to pick a date and restore. If it came with restore cd or if there is a seprate partition on the hard drive you could also use that...
Hope this helps

I have an ACER Aspire 5920 running Vista, but I have mislaid the recovery disc and the computer no longer boots up. Can I down load Acer Recovery Media onto a disc to boot and repair windows from?

How old is the system? If you have not fully repartitioned & reformatted the drive, you should have an option or prompt while the system boots to either enter setup or a boot menu. If you choose that option {PRESS F8, or some function key}, it will put you at a menu to restore your system.

Most Acers, as well as any major computer companies come with a section of your hard drive set aside with what is called a "flat" of the factory install. This is either a compressed mirror or installation of what was on your system when you first opened the box.

You can find the details for your specific make/model by going to the support section of the acer website.

Then you need the Windows OS disc and drivers. You should've done a backup disc when you first got it.

Creating recovery discs After setting up the computer for the first time, be sure to create a set of recovery discs of the full factory image. the recovery discs are used to start up (boot) the computer and recover the operating system and software to factory settings in case of system instability or failure.

Acer Aspire 5920 problem

Your best play is to restore the machine to the factory settings. To do this, power up the machine and immediately press ALT+F10. From there you will enter Acer eRecovery Management which will give you the option of returning the machine to the factory settings.

WARNING:
This will erase everything you had stored on the machine!! ie data files, pictures etc...
