Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a Hyundai computer with a Microsoft windows XP 2005. It reads off line & I'am unable to install my AVG pc cleaner

Your operating system Win XP is too far out of date. You have Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10, between you and the present day. All support for XP finished 3 years ago.

After April 8, 2014, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or technical support for Windows XP. Security updates patch vulnerabilities that may be exploited by malware and help keep users and their data safer.

You need to update to Win 7 at least, but really, you need a new computer and Windows 10. Your computer hardware is due to fail at any time soon. If you get 10 years, you are really lucky.

Updates was installed: 9/5/16 at 7:30pm on my window 7 computer but it fail why?

It is normal for the updates to fail on windows update. Just let it do its thing on its own. It will retry to install them and may fail again. This is normal now if it tries over and over to install the same update and it fails then you most likely have software that is conflicting with the install. Either way it will eventually either install the update or stop trying. As it will see that it is in fact a conflict and move on. Don't be alarmed by this just let it go.

I bought a used laptop with Windows 7 and came with office 2013. The auto update downloads the updates and shows the prompt"installation failed" , 10 or more times. Can this be fixed?

This worked for me, hopefully for you also.
*Fix Windows Update*
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Services
Windows Update - Automatic
Windows Module - Automatic
If it doesn't download UNLOCKER http://filehippo.com/download_unlocker/ then delete the folder.

Then download FREE CCLEANER https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download run registry and delete all problems also run CLEANER and delete everything no matter how many problems it shows.

Welcome to FixYa!

Try to do Windows Update. I am also using Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on a different acer machine and windows update took care of all the hardware updates.
  • Click on start, type windows update on the search box, click windows update in the result list.
jas247_43.jpg

Windows update window will open.
  • Click on Check Updates.
jas247_44.jpg

After it checks for updates, it will show you the important and optional updates.
  • Click on "...important updates".
  • Check all the important updates, believe me the computer needs it.
  • Then click the Optional TAB in the left column.
jas247_46.jpg

Hardware updates are shown in this OPTIONAL updates tab.
  • Check all, EXCEPT the Language Packs.
  • Click OK on the lower right corner of that window.
  • Then click on install updates.
I hope this will work for you.

Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day.

Hi ahzeal,
One thing you can do that make some changes in automatic updates. Just follow is these steps:- 1.Goto Start---->Run. 2.Type services.msc then hit enter. 3.Find out the Automatic updates or windows updates(in case of Windows Vista or Windows 7). 4.Change it to manual or you can stop that(Depends on your wish).

My laptop wont start after windows update can you help

If you maintain a history of "system restore" on the laptop, you may be able to boot off the intallation cd for windows, and roll the laptop back to a point before the update was applied. This may not work since microsoft has issued several updates that cannot be removed or worked around in this fashion.

Updates fail to install

Hi Kate - What anti-virus are you running? Try disabling your anti-virus and reinstalling the updates. You may have to go to the Windows update page and re-download. Just go to Start>programs and scroll up and Windows update should be there. Let me know about your Anti-virus and what SP you have installed. If this solves your install problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. I won't be done with you yet. I'll let you know what to do from now on. If it didn't solve your problem please DON'T RATE YET. Just add a comment letting me know the answers to my questions and we'll get you fixed up. Thanks.
