Sony Cyber shot 7.2 mega pixels digital camera

Model# DSC-P200 - I just took some pictures on Sunday and the camera worked fine. I tried to use it tonight and all the pictures I took were blurry. After I downloaded them onto my computer and erased them, I looked at the ones from tonight and they were awful. The lense will not retract when turned off. When you turn it back on, the screen says to turn the camera off and then back on. I have done this several times. I plugged it in to the battery charger even though it said it had 172 hours left. The error code was 61.

The error code is for the lens not retracting. Somehow it is getting stuck. The blurry pictures can be because of a bad lens or a bad connection to the lens. Hitting the camera on the palm of your hand can fix the problem of the stuck lens but you may need to replace or clean the lens or possibly fix the connections. This may just not be worth it especially if you are unable to fix it yourself.

This seriously does work. I just took the battery out, placed it back in and when it was accessing I banged it (not even that hard) against my knee and it now can focus in and out. I almost can't believe that it worked, but it surely did.

I have a sony cyber-shot 1.3 mega pixels camera

Apparently we're not talking about a DSC-P200 since that's a 7MP camera and you claim to have a 1.3MP camera.

You can go to the manufacturer's support site at http://esupport.sony.com/US and enter the appropriate model number into the search box.
