Have you tried changing the battery?
Stay further away from the dongle.
Open the small panel on the front of the Wii system and locate the red "Sync" button.
Turn on your Wii and allow the start screen to appear.
Press and hold the "Sync" button for 15 seconds to clear the Wii's sync memory.
Open the battery panel on the guitar controller and replace the batteries with new ones.
Turn on the guitar using the switch on the back of the controller.
Plug the white USB hub that came with your "Rock Band" game into the Wii's USB slot.
Press and hold the guitar icon button on the guitar controller until the blue light flashes.
Press and hold the "Sync" button on the USB hub while simultaneously pressing the "Sync" button on the guitar. Release the buttons when one of the blue lights on the guitar controller lights up and remains solid. This means that the guitar is connected and should now properly work with your "Rock Band" game.

Plug the wireless signal adapter that came with your guitar into a USB port on your game console.Try using a different USB port if the LED light on the adapter does not turn on.
Remove any wireless signal devices that may be interfering with either the adapter or the controller. Cell phones and wireless game controllers may cause interference if they are placed next to the adapter or guitar controller.Ensure that you are using the correct peripheral for your game.

With the guitar on, press the little button next to the guitar USB dongle's blue light (which should be flashing if you are not properly connecting) - that is the "re-sync" button

Try it on another Wii system ..and see the result!

Hi

First take out the batteries, replace them with new ones if you have to... replace them and try to sync again.

Push the Play station button on the guitar and push the button on the usb dongle. Do this in combination with turning your guitar on and off and it will figure itself out eventually. Your guitar should also be assigned to a controller number 1-4. If it is anything higher than that, it will not recognize it. The game will auto reassign numbers to fit into a number between 1-4.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

I dealt with Beatles Rockband Wii on 2 systems with 2 different configurations.
  1. Wireless Drum kit configuration. The Drum USB Transmitter has 2 additional USB ports, that allow Guitar/mic to be connected, plus there is the remaining USB port on the Wii
  2. Wired Drum kit comes with a 4 port USB hub, connect the hub to the Wii, and connect all instruments to the USB hub.
The Wii will only allow 4 controllers connected at once. So if you have multiple Wii Motes, then you may have to disconnect all but the one used for the Mic player (Press 1 on the Wii mote to unsync or remove the batteries)

Call me crazy, but we had the same issue and just for kicks, tried hooking it up the way the book says for GH. It worked. Don't use the USB receiver, just put the controller in the back of the guitar, and give it a shot. The controller and receiver are NOT designed to work together, it is one or the other.

The 2 games are not designed to be cross compatible. The last I heard the 2 companies that make the games have no plans for it either.

Can't get wireless guitar to work on rockband

I had this same problem.
In my case, the problem was that we bouht the guitar hero guitarm they told us to put the Wii remote inside the guitar and it will work.
What we found out was that those games have a matrix of compatiabilities. The Guitar hero guiar that you plug the Wii remote into the guitar, those DO NOT WORK with Rockband.
You have to buy another Rockband guitar, the guitar is $69.00 ad it comes with the second little square dongle thingy but it works.
If you look at the guitar for the guitar hero box, even the generic guitar that's made by Nyko, it says guitar hero on the box. it should say Guitar Hero ONLY...
Just return the cheap little $29.00 guitar and get the Rockband guitar and it will work. There are a series on sync procedures, try them all. Also go into the Rockbad game and sync the TV, basically you need t choose the TV type, rear projection, LCD, CRT etc... That will help the timing problems.
