SOURCE: My car: 2000 BMW Z3, probably Alpine (8040?) alarm

There is no fuse for the siren and no switch to turn it off. You will have to replace the siren itself. The 2000 Z3 uses the EWS 2 system.

You have a wiring issue, bad ground, incorrect relay, loose connection, faulty alarm horn... start with the alarm horn as they often fail due to debris build up and corrosion issues at the internal/external contacts... then check ground and make sure the circuit you added is on its own fuse and is not just jumped from another circuit... The siren should not receive any power when in idle mode (non alarmed state). If you hear any noise, it receives some kind of low voltage. Is it powered straight from the panel or with external power supply and aux. relay? In any way - use a volt meter and measure across the sirens power terminals. If you have any voltage present check the source.

Normally the siren is located under the bonnet bolted to the fire wall or on the side of the engine on the wheel arch. I have only ever seen a siren under bonnet in a place that is not reachable from underneath the vehicle in order to prevent a would be thief from cutting the wires of the siren

Alarm seems to work; been checked at Toyota but they say siren is broken and say it's a common fault. But everything else seems to work - you can hear the relay clicking; lights flash.

What is actually the problem, "Actually seems to work", what doesn't work.
If Toyota are on about the 9volt battery back up siren then the main siren may be working fine, but that might not be. Most cars especially Vauxhalls have a 9volt battery back up siren, so if someone tries stealing you motor and they disconnect the battery the 9volt battery will keep the siren going off.

Wirng up a bw10000 car alarm to a dj systems siren

If you're connecting at the alarm module - you want the red wire from the siren to go to the brown wire on the alarm(the one that's in a plug with 12 or so other wires), not the red (red wire is the constant power input to the alarm).
