How to turn on wireless capability?

It depends brand of laptop.
Some Brands have a switch bellow the keyboard like Sony Vaio.
Others have a keyboard command, like press Function key and F12 or F13. You can see it on the keys of the keyboard.
Another way is clicking the wireless icon bellow the deskbar and disable the wireless connection.
Then the Laptop will work in the ethernet mode(with Ethernet cable)

I have a toshiba laptop and a sony vaio wireless keyboard but dont have the setup disc to install the driver for the keyboard

Do a google search for the model of the wireless keyboard. That said, if the keyboard came from another computer, say a Sony all-in-one I don't think it will work with your laptop unless you have a USB dongle that came with the keyboard.

How do you connect sony vaio wireless keyboard to main unit

Wireless keyboards have two components, the dongle and the keyboard unit itself. Try this:

1. Make sure your keyboard has working batteries
2. Plug in the USB dongle onto a slot in your computer
3. Click on the Connect button on both th dongle and the keyboard.

Sony Vaio Wireless LAN switch is ON, still no connection

I had the same exact problem and was trying everything I could do to fix it. I went on the Sony website and it turns out the solution is actually quite simple. They explain it better on their website than I can so here's the page: http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=C1000103&sliceId=1&docTypeID=DT_KNOWLEDGEARTICLES_1_1&dialogID=42201093&stateId=0%200%2042205033 My problem was fixed in two shakes! Hope yours is too!
