Hi Connor and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

There are 3 things that cause this symptom.

1. High voltage capacitor
2. Power diode
3. Magnetron

You can check the High voltage Capacitor by unplugging the unit and removing the outer cover.
Then locate the LARGE capacitor. Hold a screwdriver well back on the INSULATED handle and short across the terminals 3 times. If it is good it will for sure get your attention. (Bright Blue BANG) Then remove all of the terminals on ONE side of the capacitor. Probe the terminals with a multimeter set on R x 10K and watch for a jump in resistance and then it quickly drifts to infinity. Reverse the leads and do this again watching for a jump in resistance and then drift to infinity. It should do this each time you reverse the leads.

LOCATE the power diode it will have one wire or terminal that is connected to the HV Capacitor.
You must make sure one side of the diode does not have any connection. Then read resistance across the diode. Reverse the meter leads and read it again. It should show a very low resistance (ZERO "ish") in one direction and a very very high resistance or infinity in the other direction. Any other reading is a failed diode. I.e Zero both directions =Bad infinity both directions = BAD Resistance in ONE direction = good.

If both of the above pass the tests most likely the magnetron has failed. However if you happen to have 4 door interlock switches vs 3 you could have a bad door interlok switch. Since you said it makes all the right noise but does not heat... I suspect one of the 3 components above.

After repairs make sure you have reconnected the Capacitor and Diode.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Everything works except the food does not heat up. Any recommendations?

This could be a diode or a capacitor. It is not expensive to fix if you have the time and patience. If you don't then you should take it into someplace to have it repaired.

Went to use and everything works except it does not heat

No heat means that the magnetron circuit has failed. It is the part the generates the microwaves that heat the food. Magnetrons replacement cost are high, usually as much as a new oven so it is rarely cost effective to repair. Sorry.

When microwaving with my cad cm4ss microwave. after a minute or two it switches off and shows E01 It does not happen every time. Any idea what the fault may be

Error 01 is usually magnetron failure. I suspect the connections to the magnetron may be poor.
Watch out as lethal voltages are at that point!

Over Stove Microwave, all works except doesn't heat

Hello. The problem you are having with your microwave is due to either a shorted rectifier or a shorted magnetron.

Everything works except heat

this is something you should probably call a repair technician for, due to the danger of the componentry.

Usually in ther case of this problem, even a technician will advise you to replace the unit, in the minds of cost effectiveness and safety...

Used tefle coated tin micro+convection oven

There are some times when it is ok to use metallic stuff in a microwave. This is probably one of them. But you won't get the manufacturer to agree. Metal concentrates the microwave energy making a strong enough local electric field to cause sparks and heat. Usually burns that spot. Do you have one of those popcorn cookers for microwaves? Works by heating a special pad in the bottom just right.
What the manufacturer is saying in the warning is:
Don't sue us if you use metal in this oven and something goes wrong.
