SOURCE: my acer aspire processor will

Hi:
That happened to me also, I have an acer aspire. You need to do the following:

First format an USB flash drive with FAT. It does not need to be bootable.

Download the latest BIOS, http://macles.blogspot.com/p/acer-aspire-one-bios.html and extract all files. Put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file with FD suffix in the root directory of the flash drive. The files must not be in a folder. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD before proceeding. It only works with this exact file name.

Turn the AA1 off, and verify both battery and AC adapter are plugged in.

Press Fn and Esc simultaneously, keep them pressed and press the power button. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds. The power button starts blinking at this point. Press it once. The AA1 will now access the files on the flash drive and initiate flashing the BIOS. After a while the power button stops blinking, and the AA1 reboots by itself. Wait patiently.

If it doesn't reboot, but keeps blinking, wait at least a few minutes before turning it off, and try again. Good Luck and if this was useful to you please vote. Thanks.

SOURCE: monitor goes black

Sorry to have to tell you this, but this is common in LCD monitors. The reason that it is going black when it boots is for one of two reasons. You either have a bad power supply that powers your LCD or your LCD's backlight is blown. These can be repaired or you can purchase a new one. But if it goes black 9 times out of 10 is because the backlight is bad. These can be repaired!

SOURCE: My new Acer P191W LCD Monitor has a high pitched whine.

Turn off the laptop. Remove battery, unplug power cord. Press and hold on button for 20 seconds. Put battery back in and plug in and turn on. Should resolve the issue. If it continues to happen you need to call for service.

I sign in into my microsoft windows login for my laptop then usually it shows my home screen and desk top but its just plain black now

when you first power up the laptop, if you see the texts, your screen is most likely OK, if not the screen is bad. if you get to windows and the login, the lptop is probably swithced to an external monitor, switch it back and see if that doesn't fix it.

Have an acer aspiree 4540, will boot but NO screen, only on external monitor. t0ok it to tech to change lcd but to no avail. any solutions?

I would take it to a shop sounds like the "tech" was not qualified to repair the issue. If you are getting pic to an external then the vid card and gpu are fine check the power lead from the board to the monitor.

My lptop did not detect the led projector cable

With the projector cable connected and the computer on, try using the following combination:

CTRL + F5 at the same time. The first time this is done it may show on the projector and turn off the laptop screen. Do the same combination again and both screen and projector should remain on. Good Luck.

Dell inspiron 6400 start up problem.

Can you hear the hard drive spinning and the computer appears to be running but you you get a blank screen. If you look at the LCD screen at an acute angle and you see a dim image. then you have a backlight problem. To determine if you have a video card problem or a lcd screen problem, Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first and then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.
Get back to me with the results of these tests and any error messages etc. so I can advise you.

Blank screen

Possible that the HV inverter or the CFL tubes are going bad / defective. I suggest to bring the unit to an authorized Acer service center for proper check-up / test & fix the problem. regards

My hp compaq nx9010 notebook is no longer displaying the color black on the Windows xp start up page or on some of my powerpoints and videos. The color black is replaced by a redish color.

It seems that someone changed the desktop background color. point the mouse somewhere in the middle of the desktop, (away from any icons) and right click the mouse, a menu will appear with several options. The bottom one says properties. Click that. Once done another (more advanced) menu will appear with several tabs at the top. Click on the second to last tab, labled, "Appearance". Once in this tab. Toward the bottom right side of this screen you will see 2 buttons one atop another labled, "Effects", (on top), and, "Advanced", (below). Click the advanced button. A new window will pop up with the first option being desktop in a drop-down menu. To it's immediate right you will see "color 1" with a drop-down menu directly below it. That is where you will select the new background, (desktop) color. Once you have selected the new color, click OK, then apply on the remaining screen, then OK once the color is set.

Be more specific. I guess your monitor has inbuilt speakers which are making noise. If yes do come back for a solution.
