Question about Uniden Cordless Phone

When talking on the phone it cuts out and sounds like someone else is dialing on the line and is all fuzzy..also when no one is on the phone it will say line in use and calls cant go in or out. We contacted telecom and they told us to change channels but have no idea how to do this. Thanks, Rebecca

On many Uniden® phones, there is a button labeled "CH". It is usually found towards the base of the of the front of the handset & often has more than one function.

Just in case this does not solve this issue, inspect the phone line & its connectors at the main phone base. Damage or close proximity to known producers of interference (fluorescent lighting, microwave ovens, high-current power lines (usually inside the wall), a noisy power strip, or proximity to a motorized appliance (such as a vacuum cleaner) could cause issues with the fidelity of the sound quality.

If this is a problem that developed over time, then another possibility could be the development of oxidation on the charge points in the phone base's cradle. Clean these contacts once a month with a pencil eraser to allow the battery/batteries to fully charge. This could affect the range, battery endurance, & sound quality. Give this 12 hours to fully charge those batteries to see if it was the actual issue.

Really bad crackling sound on certain calls


if only happens on certain calls it could either be the handset itself, a week point on all corded phones is the cable between the handset and the body of the phone. whilst talking to someone on a call wiggle the cord where it enters the handset, does it crackle if not do the same where the cord enters the phone body, if no crackle likely not phone.

next select a line if you have more than 1 line note which 1 and dial 17070. this will BT autotest the line. if more than 1 line on system do same for all lines. check with your system admin if there are quick codes to select individual lines, eg dial 9 for any line or 81 for line 1 82 for line 2 etc .

if you get crackle still on 1 of the lines get your maintainer to check the lione at the cable head where lines enter building

Sounds like someone is dialing phone when talking


thats an interference in the signal components,normaly that requires attention(hardware)

Turn ringer on


Go to Settings > SOUND > Silent mode (No sounds except media and alarms).
If this is ticked (on), it means umts smartphone alarm will sound even if you make the phone silent.
Regarding the loud sound even after reducing ringer volume, no idea for this.

Phone has worked ok till saturday ,now no dial tone ,if i ring my phone with my mobile i can here it ringing but no sound coming from my phone , i plugged in another phone and still the same ,please help...


No dial tone on telephone set? could mean alot of things. Phone went bad, jack is bad(test in different jack or from a network interface, either inside or outside. depending what your dwelling is)
Just to point out a fact, when dial from your mobile to that number that has no dialtone, that ringing sound you hear is from the central office that is putting out that ringing, it has nothing to do with the phone you're trying to ring to. You would hear the ringing sound, even if all your phones were unplugged from every jack in your dwelling.

You're in luck. Without picking up the handset, press PROGRAM the line 1 button, and dial 0 001 (or 01) and STORE. Press PROGRAM to exit.

If I "guessed" right, on your TDA system, you have line 1 back.

Try switching batteries with one of your other handsets known to be in good working order or replace the batteries in the handset with the problem with new ones

then advanced fax setup-ok
answer ring pattern-ok
chose from single, double, double and triple, none-ok

Conference call when connected to other internal lines


First dial a number,while talking to that person dial another number, after dialing the another number press redial button,than you can talk to another person but the the first line i.e. the the person you are talking at first will have to wait, he will not be able to hear waht you are talking with the another.in order have a conference than again press re-dial button than you will be able to have a conference.....

GE 28111 Twin Cordless Phone "Line In Use"


I had the same problem. I went to each handset and pushed the talk button. After I got a dial tone, I pushed it again to stop the dial tone. The message went away.
