My router seems to work fine with both of my windows 7 computers but, when I enter the ip adress in my browser, the utility does not display correctly and I can't manage the router. Are there updated drivers for windows 7, IE 8?

1. check the manual to see if you have the correct IP address to log into the router: that is 192.168.1.1
2. here is the Linksys knowledge base page that will give you more information about your router. firmware updates can be obtained via the router.
3. you may have to set the router to " factory default" using the software that came with the router.

HP 1312 printer running wirelessly from a laptop (Windows 7). Has always worked fine. Turned printer off when we were on vacation; now printer is "offline." Have reinstalled printer driver and...

Hi!

The problem you described can have multiple causes.

But one is more common:

Every device on your home network (wired or wireless) has its own IP adress. Usualy this IP adress is given automatically by the DHCP server contained in your wireless router. When a device is turned off for some time, it can receive when turned on again another IP adress than before.
So, if your printer has no static IP adress (entered by yourself during printer setup), it is very likely that it has now other IP than the address known by your computer. The computer sends the print jobs to the old adress and of course, nothing is printed.

Please check in your printers proprieties the adress of the TCPIP port assigned tom it, and also check on your router's management site what clients are connected to it.
The network communication between the computer and the printer can be checked by issuing a PING command from a command prompt.
e.g ping 192.168.1.***
the numbers are one example of an IP adress.

Please let me know if it helped, if you need more help ask again, I'll be glad to help you to get the problem solved.

Regards,
Bogdan

I change my old fios router for a new one my computer work but not my laptop. cant seems to find the password to reset

If you have manual of the router, read what's the default IP adress for accessing router. You can also try typing the 192.168.1.1 instead of a web adress in your WORKING COMPUTER'S web browser (this is the default IP usually). You will get window with username and password (you will find username and password in the manual of the router). When you access router, you can turn Wireless LAN on/off and change all values you need. You really should read manual first, it will all be clear to you after that.

Hi Friend, In this case as you have told me that you have other laptop which is working fine wirelesly. I would like you to check the IP address of the system in which you are facing the issues.
To check the IP address: 1) If system has XP Click on "Start" and then "Run". Type "cmd" in Run and hit enter A black screen will pop up, in that type "ipconfig", where the cursor will be blinking Check the IP adress under " Ethernet adapter local area connection" & " Wireless adapter"
2) If it is Vista/Win 7 Click on Start again and in Search field type cmd and hit enter Same black screen will pop up and repeat the same above steps in the black window and check the IP adress

Can i have lan drivers please web adderes

There is no need for drivers for your router, just connect with your browser at the router's ip adress. In case you don't know this adress do the following.
Connect your computer with ethernet cable at the router and after the connection has been established, hit start - run - type cmd. At the new black window type ipconfig and hit enter. You will get the results for the ethernet connection. The ip that reffers to the "default gateway" is the ip adress for your router.

In case of a problem or clarification, or need further details, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

I type in my belkin ip adress in the box to go there and every time it will say faliure to connect to webpage

You could have the wrong address, try the following.

Open up the start menu, windows icon bottom left.

Vista/7: In the search bar, type in "cmd" and hit enter.

XP: Click on "run", then type in "cdm" and hit enter.

Now you should have a black screen with white lettering.

Type in "ipconfig" and hit enter. Look for the mention of "Dafault Gateway". The IP listed there should be the address of your router. Type that IP in your browser.

If the above did not work: Connect the computer directly to the router via ethernet cable. Reboot the router then the computer in that order. If you are already connected via ethernet cable, finish off the rest of the steps.

Then repeat the above with doing a ipconfig to find Default Gateway.

Please connect me to Pulkit558

Hi Sir,
I guess you chose a wrong option. This is not Chat but let me give you the instructions on how to get your prints working on both macs.

First of all check the ip address of the mac. Check it on both macs. To do that follow the instructions below.

Step 1. Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen.
Step 2 Select "System Preferences".
Step 3. Select "Network" under the "Internet and Network" section.
Step 4 Select which connection you'd like to check in the "Show" drop-down menu. If you're hooked up via ethernet, select "Built In Ethernet". If you have a wireless network, select "AirPort".
Step 5 Select "TCP/IP" on the "Network" screen.
Step 6 View your computer's IP address on the subsequent screen displayed on your Mac.

Now you know the ip address of your mac.

Now we have to ping the ip address and have to check if there is connectivity between macs. Follow the instuction below to check that :

Step 1. On Finder in the dock.
Step 2 Click on Macintosh HD in the window.
Step 3 Click on Applications.
Step 4 Click on Utilities.
Step 5 Double-click on Network Utility.
Step 6 In the Network Utility window, click on the Ping tab.
Step 7 In the field under "Please enter the network address to ping"(enter the ip adress of other computer)
Step 8 Click the Ping button.

Try theses steps first and check if they have connection.

Im trying to make a rules for my router but when i type in 192.168.0.1 in the adress bar and press enter it says that internet explorer could not display it yet my internet it working fine

Make sure that your computer is connected to the router .
If it not then connect the computer to the router with the cable.
Check the IP address on the computer . the default gateway number is the IP address of the router .
Use that number to open the router set up.
If it doesn't work in the address bar, then
Click Start. go to Run . In the Run box Type http://192.168.0.1 ( If the IP address of the router is 192.168.0.1 )

Cant connect to http://192.168.0.50

what you need to do here is manually set your static IP adress, I had this problem as well and I know what to do.
you need to go to your network connections ( Controll panel>network connections) in xp (Controll panel>network and sharing center then left hand it sais: change adapter settings )
then rightclick your wireless connection and look at it's properties. then you need to click on Internet Protocol, for vista/windows 7 it's internet protocol 4 which you need to select. once selected click on properties just a little below.
there you'll see the setting is on: obtain Ip automaticly, but you'll have to choose ( use the following IP adress ) and enter

IP adress: 192.168.0.99
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.50
once entered press OK and now go to your browser and type the routers adress (192.168.0.50) in my case and now you should be in your modems setup menu.
once changed your setting you need to change your IP back to auto obtain IP adress. or your internet still won't work
