Does the "protect" light turn's on when it shuts off? If it does then theres a problem with your wiring or worse this might be a Thermal Protect. The amp shuts off because its lacking of voltage from your battery & alternator. Post your system so i could help you further.

I have the same problem with the Yamaha RX396. I cleaned everything. I put the mother board out and checked for short circuits. Nothing. Still the receiver turns off after some time (between 1 hour or even immediately), even if the speakers are not connected. Where is the thermal protection circuit? I see a circuit attached to the cooling metal fins, but the circuit is looking fine. Could the mechanical relay be damaged due to the softening of the spring? Do you have a circuit plan?

Why does stereo amp cut out at higher volume

You seem to have the answers to your question. I would just resolder the connections anyway without checking. If it solves the problem you have saved yourself a lot of money. If it doesn't follow the other steps in order of cheapness!

Subs cut in and out

The amplifier may be going into protect mode (even briefly) because you are driving them too hard. Back off on the volume and see whether the problem goes away.

I have a power acoustik ibm12000d amp had it installed to weeks ago wired at one ohm to a 15inch acoustik p3 sub worked good for to weeks hit good and everything but now its cutting off when turned up I...

Sounds like an over current condition. Your sub may be the problem. Does it go into protect mode when it cuts out? remove the sub and turn up the volume and see if it cuts out when you keep increasing the volume. If not, then it may be that the sub shorts out when turned up too much, kicking the amp into protect mode. If it still cuts out, then it may be the amp. Try another sub if you have one or borrow one from a friend.

My subwoofer doesn't receive power, all amp fuses are fine, amp powers on, remote wire and rca wires are connected and intact. Before it stopped working all together the woofer would cut out and after...

If you are getting power to the amp, try this....Find a small speaker, unhook your sub and wire speaker to amp. Turn on your system at a low volume....If the other speaker is playing through amp, then your sub is shot.....If the small speaker doesnt work, then its either your channel is gone on the amp or the rcas have quit off off your head unit.

RADIO CUTS OFF WHEN VOLUME IS TURNED UP

It could be your wiring as well. Sometimes, when speaker wire gets cut and grounded, like your factory wiring to your door speakers or you tap into facrotry speaker wires to add more, the load on your deck increases. When the volume gets to a certain level, it will cut off because of the heat produced to maintain the load.

Stops playing if i turn im up louder if i restart than he plays and wen i turn up the volume everything stps even the licht goes out

Disconnect speakers and test. Crank up the volume and see if it still cuts out. Then re connect one speaker at a time and test. if it cuts out, check for a short in a speaker wire or a bad speaker (blown or shorted coil) Hope this helps

Receiver won't turn on

Disconnect all the speaker wires, then turn the unit on. If it does not power on and the standby light is "out" pop the top and check the internal fuse by the power cord. Beyond that, without the proper testing equipment, it's all a guess. If the unit turns back on with all the wires disconnected, then reconnect your speaker wires one by one and test each time. If it does not cut out, you found the problem. Wire touching. If it cuts out, disconnect wire at the speaker and re test, if it still cuts out, replace the wire and try again. Then re connect the same speaker to the new wire and test. If your lucky, all will be well. If not, it will need to be serviced or replaced, based on cost. Hope this helps
