Please, may you tell to me what is ACER ASPIRE M1641 motherboard name ?

Re: Sata driver - ACER M1641 desktop PC « Reply #8 on: March 28, 2009, 04:26:23 PM » I have discovered the previously unknown model of the motherboard in this system. I have searched and searched and could not find it anywhere. With the actual model of the motherboard you can get supported drivers right from the manufacturer, the same way you could if you purchased a standard motherboard like asus or gigabyte.

I have determined this motherboard (at least my acer a1641-e1712a) is a MICROSTAR board. A link to a board with compatable drivers can be found http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1499&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&cat3_no=2 .

The board is a MSI board using their mainboard search. My criteria went as follows...

Mainboard -> Intel Platform -> Socket 775 Chip -> Nvidia Chipset -> Nvidia MCP73 Chipset

That narrows your down to 8 or so mainboards, all of which use the same sata, audio and onboard video. My above link http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=1499&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=170&cat3_no=2 will take you to a board where you can get SATA, AUDIO and VIDEO DRIVERS.

Hope this helps guys!

No signal to monitor

Hi there
first what i would do if this has a video card installed ''' is to turn off the computer and monitor and unplug both the power cords and the cable for the monitor than open the case and remove the video card and check to make sure that it is all right clean off the gold edges with a eraser and make sure to clean it off really good then install it into a nother port if available and put everything back together and than turn on the monitor and than turn on the computer and see if the monitor light turns green and if so you should be good to go ok please let me know how this works for you there is still more that i can do if needed ok

I have a 715V with the same problem

This is a problem with the interface or digital signal processing board. You need to replace this board which plugs into the Signal input.

Help finding manufacters name

Microstar is MSI www.msi.com/ They manufacture the Motherboards for companies like Acer. The MSI website has a download function that should identify your motherboard and install the latest drivers. Depending on the age of the board you could use the chipset or socket information to narrow down your search.

Do I need a video card for this mainboard?

Since you have able to connect your monitor to the board it means that it has a built in video on the mother board but there's no display on the screen if that's the case there's a possibility that the built in video is not working fine, so I'm suggesting you get a AGP video card because its really better not to use the built in video.
